Kinglouie, Mi Tierra was majorly an homage to traditional Cuban music, from the 30s 40s and 50s. Gloria has said that 90 Millas is more modern, a summary of Cuban music throughout the last 50 years. It's a lot more rhythmic and afro-cuban. Gloria's website was updated with a mini site about the album www.90millas.com/

Estefan Revels In Cuban Roots On '90 Millas' June 15, 2007, 10:30 AM ET Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Gloria Estefan revisits the Cuban music of her roots on "90 Millas," her debut album for Sony BMG's Burgundy Records. Due Sept. 18, the 14-track set is led by the single "No Llores," which features guitarists Carlos Santana and Jose Feliciano and percussionist Sheila E. The track goes to U.S. radio outlets on Monday (June 18).
"90 Millas" is sung entirely in Spanish and boasts contributions from a host of Latin music heavyweights, including India, Arturo Sandoval, Paquito D'Rivera, Generoso, Cachao Lopez and Johnny Pachecho. "This is Cuban music with a new twist," says Estefan's husband Emilio, who produced the album.
Estefan had spent her entire career on Epic before inking with Burgundy, which is also home to America, Aaron Neville and Chaka Khan. "Burgundy had proposed a Cuban album to us even before they knew there was one in the works," Emilio tells Billboard.
Highlights include the percussion heavy title track, the thumping "Morenita" and the ballad "Esperando," which is already available on iTunes. Estefan is planning to support the new album with international touring, including a Sept. 15 show at the Las Ventas bull ring in Madrid, but for now is only planning spot date in the United States.
A host of major promotional partnerships are also in the works, as is a tropical remix of "No Llores" with a prominent guest artist to be announced. "We know how difficult it is to sell records now," Emilio says. "You can't be predictable."
Here is the track list for "90 Millas":
"Me Odio" "No Llores" "Lo Nuestro" "Pintame" "Caridad" "Yo No Cambiaria" "Besame" "Refranes" "A Bailar" "Esta Fiesta No Va Acabar" "Volvere" "Esperando" "Morenita"

I am really happy to hear that Gloria hasn't disappeared from the scene. For awhile..I thought she was over..because you never hear about her anymore. She puts out some great music and some great dance music too! I saw her in concert years ago, and thought she was amazing. Hope she continues!

I was lucky enough to know people close to Estefan Enterprises and was able to hear short clips of a few songs the other day. 90 Millas is very danceable, and with La India's help, the song hass hit written all over it. I thought "Pintame De Colores" would have been the first single, it's so fun andcatchy and extremely upbeat, so ready for the radio.

If her upcoming album is anything like her album titled "Gloria", it will be one awesome, amazing, danceful album, with lots of hits!

No offense to Mrs. Estefan, but I just don't think she's relevant any more. I know she has a loooong discography but her last two spanish albums barely created any buzz.

The first single off GLORIA: Heaven's What I Feel charted number 4 on AC and number 7 on Dance.
Oye went to number 1 on the Hot Latin Charts and on the Tropical Chart and Dance.
Dont Let this Moment End went to number 3 on the Dance Charts.
and her last spanish album was Alma Caribeña which aside from winning her a Grammy went to number 1 on the Top Latin albums . The first single No Me Dejes De Querer also went to number 1 as did Como Me Duele Perderte

Billboard review:
No Llores GLORIA ESTEFAN Producer(s): Emilio Estefan Jr., Gaitán Bros. Genre: LATIN Label: Burgundy/Sony BMG
On upcoming "90 Millas," Gloria Estefan returns to her Cuban roots with a contemporary twist, recording all original material whose sound harks back to the old country. First single "No Llores" boasts a vintage feel in its improvisational call-and-response structure and nostalgic lyric. But it is contemporized with a veritable who's who of Latin musicians, including guitarists Carlos Santana (on electric) and José Feliciano (acoustic). Emphasis here is as much on Estefan as it is on the players, underscoring a different project with a novel approach. Aside from its overall catchiness and infectious, make-me-get-up-and dance rhythm, "No Llores" is a standout for impeccable production and enviable mix that allows every instrumental line (and there are many) to resonate with bell-like clarity. This is real music, to be danced to as much as cherished for its adept skill. —Leila Cobo

The song is nice, but not the big impact I was hoping for a come-back song. I've been a fan since early 80s, years before Conga. I'll buy her album of course the first day out, but I was hoping for a huge Cuban party song. No Llores has great quality, but to me it's just ok as a first single.

The song is nice, but not the big impact I was hoping for a come-back song. quote] My thoughts exactly! I finally saw the video for this song and ...eh. Whatever. Gloria is a good singer, but I find most of her recording really dull. This is nowhere near the level of my favorite song by her "no me dejes de querer". I give it a C+...?

I happen to like the song, but I hate Gloria as a person.
She had the nerve to say on the Cristina show that if she was a political leader the first thing she would do is get rid of 1) Fidel Castro, which is understandable and 2.) get rid of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Who the fuck does she think she is? Hitler?

She said that?! You saw it or you read about it? I know for sure she doesn't like Castro of course. I didn't know about that Jehova's Witnesses thing.

I read about it and my mom told me she saw it. I've also read that at times during her concerts she would ask everyone in her audience who was a JW to leave.

www.snopes.com/music/artists/ordered.aspAs boring as this song is, I still love Gloria! I think she's a great person and I don't know where all this stuff about her concerts is coming from. I never saw any of her Cristina interviews so I don't know, but I know she didn't say anything at the concert I went to.
