Rules:
1) Don't get pissed if you think that some of these aren't flops. I am going by Top 40 radio. If they did bad on there, they are considered a flop in this thread.
2) Don't start stupid arguments.
3) Have fun. Ha.
My vote is for Paris's "Nothing In This World".

I would have to say Rihanna - We Ride. For someone who came off of 2 top 10 single, one of which was #1, you think she would atleast go Top 20 with her 3rd single. NOPE! Big flop IMO!

It's not about which one was the biggest, it's about the one you like the most. Haha.

We Ride, compared to her previous two singles it was a megaflop. I'm surprised so many people voted Maneater considering it was a top 20 hit obviously not on par with Promiscuous but it wasn't even served to most radio and it was pretty much a last minute decision to release at all in the US. And they waited so long too.

"WHO KNEW" BY FAAAR! that was one of the best pop songs of 2006...brilliant lyrics and beautiful message.... i feel bad p!nk had a bummer kind-of a year.....her album was much better than the amount of publicity that it received!

Paris Hilton's Nothing in this World has become a cheap flop in the West, but in Asia, it's doing incredibly well.

"Maneater" was by no means a flop. Though it wasn't an airplay hit, it enjoyed a #16 peak on the Billboard Hot 100, and artists are typically remembered more by their Billboard chart runs over all else.
I don't even know if you can consider Shakira's "Illegal" a flop simply because Shakira's label made virtually NO effort whatsoever to promote it, which is quite evident in barely any station ever picked it up to begin with. Shakira's promoters are easily one of the greatest embarrassment stories of 2006, given how Shakira was frequently topping the list of Google name searches and how popular she was year-round. "Illegal" was no flop in my mind, but simply a single that was like a rocket that never got lit because no one was around to light it.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Maneater. It had EVERY RIGHT to be a hit. The beat and synths almost gaurenteed that it would hit radio's ass! It was a shocker when I found out how early this song was loosing it's bullet.

I voted for "High", because it's so much better than the Blunt song that got all the attention. I also think "Maneater" deserved a better shake here (it was huge internationally), and it, too was much better than her song that got the most play here, but it's already leading this poll.

I was shocked that MANEATER wasn't a bigger hit. WHO KNEW is my second choice.

Who Knew by far. I don't consider Maneater to be a flop. Top 20 is not a flop!

MyLastView is saying these are flops solely based on their performance on Top 40. Maneater was a flop. It didn't break top 20 and it's airplay is well below 1M. That's horrible for a song that began it's run just four months ago. Airplaywise, it flopped. :(
My choice is Maneater. Who Knew ranks in as a REALLY close second.

"Who Knew" followed by "Maneater"

I forgot to make an actual pick here after arguing "Maneater" ISN'T a flop and "Illegal" was simply a song that was never given a push. Truly, the best FLOP is "Learning The Hard Way" by the Gin Blossoms in my opinion, but from this CHR/Pop-leaning selection, "Who Knew" gets my vote. As an aside, who DIDN'T predict Paris Hilton would FLOP big time this year? She had FLOP written all over her face in my mind long before she even announced beginning a music career! Sincerely, Noah Eaton

If you people were smart, you'd read the first post that says I am going by Top 40 radio. Thank you MusicJunkie
