*shrug* This has turned into the Pete Wents thread instead of news on their new album. I hate how much attention he gets and he's not even the singer. He hosted the pre-show to the MTV Movie Awards yesterday with Rihanna. I've always found it odd that he gets the most attention.

Oh my god Pete and Brandon would be HOT! And it is annoying that he gets all the attention-I couldnt even mention another FOB member to tell you the truth...but people seem to love celebrities who...well, pose nude and say crazy stuff He should kiss Gerard-THAT would be priceless.

Who cares about anyone else in the band? The lead singer looks like an overweight hamster... And the rest of the band is just unknown to the general public.

It is kind of strange that Pete is the spokesperson for the band. I think the public is more accustomed to the lead singer being the image of the band. I know when I listen to Fall Out Boy I imagine Pete as the lead singer. The rest of the band members names are Patrick, Joe, and Andy by the way.
I read in Rolling Stone magazine that the other members of the band are shy and don't really like doing press and Pete is more open to it. He is a very attractive guy and he even has his own label (Decadynce, he signed Panic at the Disco) and his own clothing line (www.clandestineindustries.com). Plus he had the whole naked pics on the internet scandal.
There is a rather lengthy article on MTV.com about Pete Wentz dealing will his hectic schedule...u guys should go check it out, I'll see if I can post it later. I find him to be a rather interesting person. He's dealth with depression in the past, he even attempted suicide once in the parking lot of a Best Buy, but he still keeps a positive outlook on life and sends a good message of acceptane out there to the world.

I remember hearing on some show that Pete is the groups spokesperson because he's the most personable and Patrick is just shy and a quiet individual.

www.absolutepunk.net confirms that the followup to the multiplatinum From Under the Cork Tree will be released on February 6, 2007!!! Bass player Pete Wentz (total hottie) confirms in the band's journal page on www.falloutboyrock.com that absoulte punk has leaked a song for the new as of yet untitled album. The new song is NOT the first single. All Access confirms that the first single will be sent to radio December 5, 206 and is titled "It Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race". Anyways, the song that leaked is called "Carpal Tunnel of Love" and can be streamed at www.absolutepunk.net/artists/showlink.php?do=showdetails&l=1531&page=6I personally am diggin this new track. It picks up where the last album left off yet adds something different to the table. I love Patrick's vocals during the chorus and the chords are catchy. Pete screams in the middle of it which some fans are on the fence about but I am like obsessed with Pete so I'm happy he got a solo lol. All in all, the song is a great pop/punk song without being too underground nor too mainstream at the same time. I think that's why I like Fall Out Boy. Can't wait for the new album!

Fall Out Boy Leak New Track Hip-shaking song — reportedly called 'Carpal Tunnel of Love' — won't be first single from February 6 album. You've got to hand it to Fall Out Boy. Though several of their peers claim to be doing things "for the kids," you'd be hard pressed to find a group more connected to the scene than Pete Wentz and company. Case in point: They chose to premiere a song (reportedly called "Carpal Tunnel of Love") from their upcoming album via an under-the-radar leak on punk site AbsolutePunk.net. Fall Out Boy's label, Island Records, had no idea the song had even been posted on the site. But a spokesperson for the band's management confirmed that, yes, the song was taken from FOB's hotly anticipated new album — due February 6 — but wouldn't verify the title. "Carpal Tunnel" was one of several songs Wentz mentioned when he spoke to MTV News about the new album last month (see "Fall Out Boy Deliver New LP Details: Panic Cameo, Single On The Way"). Whatever it's called, the new song should put fans — nervous that the band had decided to work with producer Babyface — at ease (see "Fall Out Boy Want Babyface To Produce Their Next Album"). Clocking in at just under three and a half minutes, it's a prime slab of what the boys have become famous for: highly caffeinated pop-punk mixed with a little white-boy soul and some hard-core yelping. Over a bed of Joe Trohman's crunchy guitars, frontman Patrick Stump bleats out the MySpace-approved missives ("We take sour sips/ From life's lush lips/ We shake, shake, shake the hips/ In relationships") and even gets to stretch his ever-growing falsetto on the chorus. At about the 2:15 mark, the whole thing collapses into a series of grrr-owly shouts (courtesy of bassist Wentz) and some cascading power chords, with drummer Andy Hurley pounding away in the background. News of the leak first hit FOB's official message board this weekend, with pandemonium predictably ensuing (i.e. the board crashed). In the wake of the leak, reaction to the song is mixed — with opinions ranging from "This is the bestest song ever! I cried when I heard it!" to "Wow. This is not good." And though it leaked first, "Tunnel" will not be the first single from FOB's new album, according to an Island Records spokesperson. That honor will fall to a song called "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," which the band will debut on the American Music Awards, airing Tuesday, November 21. Fall Out Boy Exclusive: Pete Wentz Reveals LP Title, Details On Single
Title of Infinity on High comes from Vincent van Gogh, and significance is not hard to decipher.
For nearly as long as Fall Out Boy have been working on their new album, bassist Pete Wentz has been touting the greatness of its title, declining to reveal it but promising that it would "blow people's minds."
And now, after months of hints, he's finally let the cat out of the bag.
"The new album is called Infinity on High," Wentz told MTV News late Monday night. "It's taken from a quote by Vincent van Gogh. And as for what that means in relation to the record, we'll just let it will unfold when people hear it."
The title is taken from a letter written by van Gogh to his brother Theo in 1888, in which he describes his renewed health and the vigor it has instilled in his painting. Van Gogh's exact phrasing has been translated as both "Be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high. Then life seems almost enchanted after all," and "And all the same to feel the stars and the infinite high and clear above you. Then life is almost enchanted after all."
While Wentz declined to explain the title's significance to the songs the band has written for the album — which is due February 6 — it's not difficult to see it as a statement about the band rising above detractors and finding strength within themselves. Or at least that's what we infer from the first two songs we've heard about from the record, the just-leaked "Carpal Tunnel of Love" (see "Fall Out Boy Leak New Track"), and the first single, "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," a tune that Wentz referred to as "a call to arms."
"It's just kind of a tongue-in-cheek look at the way we are so addicted and obsessed with new arts, cultures and loves — to the point where it just becomes oversaturated," he said. "I think people are gonna read into it what they will. In the back of my head it's a call to arms, but not [in the traditional sense] — more in the way that you sometimes need to just talk to yourself in the mirror."
Wentz further described "Arms Race" as "a bit of '70s funk mixed with [the band's 2003 LP] Take This to Your Grave, with tight verses and big, fat choruses," and admitted that he and the rest of the band were a bit nervous about debuting the song on next week's American Music Awards.
But again, he welcomes any detractors.
"I guess it's gonna go how it'll go," he said. "We've never been the greatest live band but we love the songs we play and sometimes that seems to transfer to crowd, sincerely. No one really sounds great on TV, but we'll give it a shot and see what happens."
So with an album title and a pair of songs revealed, does that mean Fall Out Boy are gearing up to take Infinity on the road? Well, not just yet. But Wentz did say that there are big — and small — plans in the works.
"We do have some surprise shows coming up this winter, and of course, we'll tour for the record," he said. "This is how our band will always be. People should keep their eyes open. We feel indebted to our fans and will always try to pay them back."

I love "The Carpal Tunnel of Love" except for the random screaming part. If that was left out of the song I'd like it 10x more.

Loving "...Arms" race right now. Here's a bit of a preview of sorts, where Pete says they're using more r&b influences and working with Babyface while who's supposed to be a record label dude freaks out. And then they act like a boy band lmao

Did "I Fell Asleep In Your Bed And Woke Up In Your Boyfriend's" make the final cut of the album?

I like the long titles! I mean sometimes they are a tad too long (think Panic! At The Disco's "There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered Honey, You Just Haven't Though Of It Yet") but they're kind of entertaining.
