LOVE IT! <3 I'm assuming he's taking the "post a cover on YouTube and hope that a label likes it" move. Nice...

Chris has a fantastic voice. The song "All Alone" was really good, too. As a songwriter, I hope he does not dwell on the "love songs" though- there's got to be some depth beyond "I love you, girl" if he is going to make it- that "gas" just won't bring the car in. Doesn't anyone sing anything like "American Pie" anymore? John Lennon wrote "Nowhere Man," the first non-love Beatles song and they branched out from that. He needs something like that to break through- but he has major talent, it seems- beautiful voice, potential for good songwriting- his talent seems genuine- i'm hoping for the best for him.

^I, actually, 100% agree with you. We all know the love songs...Chris should definitely try writing more personal music for his album.

As a songwriter myself, I can say it's SO HARD not to write love songs. I'd say 8 out of 10 songs I write are either straight up love songs, or really, really close. I'm trying to branch out of it more, but I can see where they'd hold someone down. I think he's pretty versatile though and will surprise us how good they'll really be.

Love Songs are the easiest songs to write and the second easy would be breakup songs. We had an assignment in mine songwriting class to write 4-8 lines of a love song without cliche words and everyone came up with good ones there was even a rap song in there.

Wow! I didn't know you wrote songs, BA?! Do you sing as well? Yeah, but so far I really just backup for my friend who sings the songs I write...I've done a few covers on my own, but I just keep them to myself...soon enough I'll put some stuff online.

We had an assignment in mine songwriting class to write 4-8 lines of a love song without cliche words and everyone came up with good ones there was even a rap song in there. True, but when I write love songs I try to avoid cliche anyways...Cuz I feel most the easy love songs have already been written. Although there's countless songs I've trashed because they've become too generic. An example of one of my fav is called "Love Letters" and I don't want to post the lyrics right now, because I'm going to re-do some, (if you want the lyrics, send me a message) but it basically tells the story of a guy writing love letters to his wife. The first verse is talking about how he writes the letters and it's pretty nicely worded, but the clincher is the last line in that verse where he says that he's wishin she would feel the same, write him back and sign her name. Only it's in first person. The chorus goes along the lines of asking her not to shred his love letters and he describes himself without her. The second verse talks about how he knows she's received his letters and talks about how she inspired him to write. Then the chorus again. Then the third verse talks about how he starts to realize that he's writing his love letters only because he can't accept the fact that......his wife died. So, it's actually not such a great song, at least I like it, but at the same time I hate it because it's tragic. Either way, I'm fairly proud of it.

Lol, well if I could ever get a piano verse I liked, then I'd put it on myspace, but so far I hate everything I've done with it.

"All Alone" by Chris Richardson Track 8 4:32 Length Exclusive Debut Written by Chris Richardson, Ivan Corraliza Mixed by Jimmy Douglass Produced by Ill Factor Published by Ill Factor Music, Inc. "Watch for Chris Richardson's upcoming album." Lyrics:
I thought we had it all planned But I guess I wrong (wrong, wrong) Gave you a piece of my heart Then you turn around and you're gone Now what you think I wouldn't find out? Why don't you tell me what that's all about? I'm not about your crying, girl Over all the lies, now the walls have fallen down Said all my goodbyes Tried many times Now I hope you see what you've done...to me
No more love in this happy home Say goodbye and just carry on Write it down for the next one So they will know I watch the sunrise Way too many times Without you by my side Cause I can't even lie All alone All alone All alone All alone
I thought about how it could have been Remembering the days we shared Looking back on all the memories And when you acted like you cared It took a second just to figure it out And I can see the rain is falling down I've been stuck in the middle though It took too long for me to come around Said all my goodbyes Tried too many times Now I hope you see what you've done...to me
No more love in this happy home Say goodbye and just carry on Write it down for the next one So they will know I watch the sunrise Way too many times Without you by my side Cause I can't even lie All alone All alone All alone All alone
Now the love is gone And you're feeling all alone Now the love is gone And you're feeling all alone (alone) Now the love is gone And you're feeling all alone Now the love is gone And you're feeling all alone (alone)
No more love in this happy home Say goodbye and just carry on (carry on, carry on) Write it down for the next one (for the next one) So they will know I watch the sunrise (watch the sunrise) Way too many times (way too many times) Without you by my side (without you by my side) Cause I can't even lie ('cause I can't even lie) All alone All alone (all alone) All alone All alone (all alone)
No more love in this happy home Say goodbye and just carry on Write it down for the next one So they will know I watch the sunrise Way too many times Without you by my side Cause I can't even lie All alone (all alone) All alone (all alone) All alone (all alone)
Ooh Yeah Don’t even think about you now Don't have any sympathy for you girl I don't need your run-a-round You ain't no good for me (good for me) Now you're all alone (alone) Now you're all alone Now you're all alone (alone)
