Let's just hope he doesn't incorporate ALL of them into his album. It would just be a mess.

Agreed. I'm assuming he's just gonna stick to what he knows best, which is a mix of pop and rock. I don't expect to hear an Elliott Yamin album out of him.
I know Ace Young was planning on doing this type of album for his debut, but he was never signed right away. Chris should have an easier time at getting signed since his image is much more "now".
I wish we could hear some original stuff from him...from what I've heard, it's AMAZING.

Just wanted to add that I heard he has kept in contact with Timbaland through Idol and such, so I imagine there is a good chance we might see some Timbaland on his album as well.

For some odd reason, I've become way less interested in this since AI6 ended. I feel like it's just going to be another album...nothing amazing or unique.

I'd imagine thats due to lack of information on the album.
I'll admit, I lost interest also. But seeing him live on tour set a fire under my ass to want more from him. I can't even begin to explain how much he has grown.
If anything, I've lost total interest in Jordin's album. I feel like it's just gonna be another McPhee type album. Nothing that really interests me.

Hm. When are they gonna announce his deal?

They haven't announced any deals. Even Jordin's deal with Arista hasn't officially been announced.
My guess is 19M is keeping tabs on a few of the contestants and worry about the signings later. From what I do know, Chris has been recording in studio's while on tour...whether it's for a demo or for an actual album, I do not know.

Found this article From Aug. 15: www.thestar.com/entertainment/article/246391Part about Chris: Chris Richardson: A former employee of Timbaland's studio, this enterprising cat has logged 10 songs for his forthcoming album and has been co-writing material with Lewis, Sparks and Stacey. His own sound, he says, is funked-up rock. "I'm willing to take as much time on it as possible because I want to make an album where you can just press `play' and you don't have to skip a single song."

i love his voice.. my favorite from him is his studio version of 'Don't Speak'. His riff at the end is beautiful.

He's only gotten better since he's been on tour, too. If you listen to some of the tour mp3's or watch the videos on YT...he's really improved, vocally and with his performance skills.

I don't love it because it's rather grating to my ears. I don't hear "rich" - it actually seems rather thin.

Yeah I went to one of the shows. They all actually sounded much better than their nervous TV performances. Chris was definitely outstanding and received one of the biggest audience responses after he finished "Geek in The Pink."

I don't love it because it's rather grating to my ears. I don't hear "rich" - it actually seems rather thin. Then whats the point of coming to reply? I actually came to see what actual news had been posted because I watch Idol and am interested in all of the contestants' post-Idol music careers even if I don't intend to buy their recorded output. I've followed this and other Idol threads, but rarely post in them because I've little to contribute. I posted my opinion there because "I don't see how anyone could not love his voice" (or whatever the quote was) was a place where I actually could contribute something because I was one of those people with a differing opinion. Anything else you'd like to know?

Eric LgndNSS, not everyone has to agree with you. Not everyone thinks he is amazing. He wasn't insulting him, so it's fine. Take a chill pill. : D

Only 3 more days until the Idol deadline, so label info should be leaking soon. And to those who don't like him or his voice...whats the point of posting? To point out your negative opinion on him? It's pointless...no one in hear really gives two sh*ts why you don't like him. Not everyone is going to be a fan and I'm perfectly fine with that, it doesn't make you a bad person or anything, but if you're not a fan and don't like his voice...then why reply to anything that has to do with it? To let his fans know that you don't like him or his voice? It really won't make any of us look at him any differently. You're entitled to your opinions just as we're entitled to ours, so if you're going to post in the "Chris Richardson Discussion"...at least try to be open minded to the fans' opinions, and we'll be open minded to yours.

I posted two sentences, neither of which was at all closed-minded to others' opinions as far as I can tell. In fact, both used first person quite plainly with no mention of anyone else - fairly clearly a statement of my opinion without any sort of critique of anyone else's opinion. And I already answered the whole "why bother posting" thing and obviously I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion. Good Lord, you would think I came in here and posted my opinion repeatedly or attacked everyone who disagreed with me. Forgive me if when I saw "discussion," I interpreted that to mean this was a place where people would be able to, uh, discuss.

My post was simply directed towards everyone who may dislike him in general. I know how these boards work and trolls take over threads trying to start issues with everyone. I have no problem with you...I'm just saying I don't want to see this thread turn into a hate zone because once the negative posts start pouring in...it doesn't seem to stop.
You're entitled to your own opinion. And I'm just saying, as long as we can all respect that in eachother, then I'm happy with the way this thread is run.
