She's best known for her singles "Freak Like Me" and "T-Shirt & Panties" and has five studio albums to date. www.adinahoward.com

I like Adina's music. It's nice to know she's still doing the sexy R&B/hip hop stuff she used to do. I have heard a couple of the songs on here when they leaked and they were pretty good. "Hips" and "Phone Sex" are really hot!

Is that the official t/l? Yep! She made snippets available as ringtones off FeedMyPhone.com Sad thing though, is that it seems like she's stuck in record label politics again, which is weird considering that she's on an indie label now (Arsenal Records, home to also Jon B).

But they have major label distribution, right?

Well yeah. I sorta expected it to be low. Arsenal Records pretty much just dropped like 1-2 copies per selected stores (FYE, Circuit City, Sam Goody) to sell, skipping other major retailers (Target, Best Buy) w/o any promo at all. Even Adina was pissed at how they just packaged it (cover art NOT her idea), but she was thankful that the fans still bought it (reaching #17 on iTunes R&B Albums chart).

I prefer "Doin' 80" over both but I'd go with "Like Me".

Adina just had her live online chat/phone call-in on NowLive's Sluggo Radio Show tonight. Here are a couple of highlights from questions fans asked:
-She's dealing with the 2005 lawsuit with Rufftown Records (who released her 2004 album "The Second Coming"), and the first court date is Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008. She will be giving updates on her MySpace via a video blog. If she wins, she gets released from her contract and is free to sign with any (major or indie) label. If Rufftown wins, she has to record one more album for them.
-"Welcome To Fantasy Island" will NEVER be released physically, iTunes, or any other way.
-No release date yet for her second film, the indie "Casanova's Demise".
-She loves doing shows, and is trying to get more dates announced (including a few California dates).
-There is ZERO label support right now for her album "Private Show". That means NO videos, NO songs sent to radio stations, NOTHING except Adina promoting the album herself.

Wow. Why is she still signed if the label is showing no support?

NEWS:*She's completed a new film, "Poke the Sleeping Bear", which is being prepped for film festivals and HBO or Showtime. * "Adina Howard Presents..." will be an upcoming show (based in Charlotte, NC) where she'll be performing with a live band, looking for new talents, who will be her opening act on her upcoming tour. *Slim (the A&R from MTV's Making the Band) had a song for Adina called "Private Show", which was recorded. It was attempted to be sold to a label, but problems arose, and although it's the title track of her latest album, it wasn't able to be included. *No word on the "Adina Howard vs Rufftown Records" court trial earlier this week.

reaching out to you Current mood: hopeful
hello family,
i hope that all is well. as for me i am blessed. i feel good about my life and all that is going on in it. i am an overcomer. i will not break. this too will make me stronger. as you know i have been on the road promoting the new album "private show" to the best of my ability. so far so good especially since the label (arsenal records/max gousse) and the distribution company (fontana) that released "private show" has giving me absolutely no support up to this point. when i say no support i mean that there has been no promotion letting people know the album is in stores and you know what we went through with the album being pushed back 50/11 times and now that it's released no one really knows it exists. which really sucks but hey you have to play with the cards your dealt. then you have little to no distribution of the album in said stores (circuit city and best buy) which sucks even more because those of you who want to go into the stores and purchase the album have to search high and low and still might not be able to buy it. i know we live in a world of technology but not everyone has access to such technology nor does everyone have credit or debit cards to purchase digital downloads and there are some of us who actually want to have a hard copy and read the thank yous and credits. you would think that they were aware of this but i'm aware that common sense isn't so common. MOVING ON. as most of you know i had a court date january 22nd. the record label/distribution company rufftown entertainment was trying to sue me or i should say is trying to sue me because the lawsuit hasn't been dropped yet but the reason for the lawsuit is because the label arsenal records didn't promote my album "the second coming" and i'm being accused of not promoting the album as well. go figure. well, so far that situation is moving forward. i will keep you updated. hopefully we can mutually agree on a solution so that i can put this behind me. now that i've gotten that out of the way if any of you would like to reach out to fontana about "private show" here is fontana's information. you can contact them at Fontana Distribution 10 Universal City Plaza Suite 400 Universal City, Ca 91608 or you can call them at 1.877.878.FONTANA. hopefully this will help with getting the album put into more stores. i love you all and thank you for your continued support. love yourselves and respect one another.
love, light, and blessings
your biggest fan
adina.
