Debelah's new album will be out this year, entitled, "Light At the End of the Tunnel." It's a gospel album and the tracks are written by Debelah & Giloh Morgan!
No word on a label yet.

I just heard she's shooting a reality show with Shanice and Karyn White early next year. Her gospel album was released on itunes earlier this year too.

She's a crazy vocalist. All of her albums have quite a few gems and if you like those whistle tones, she delivers in spades! Love her.

Can't believe she's doing something with Shanice. Perhaps we can get some harmonized whistle notes from the two of them? (a la Mariah's "Can't Let Go") I can dream right?

She and Shanice were in the lab recently. Looks like Karyn White will be joining them on the song as well. Entertainment Weekly namechecked Karyn White in this week's issue regarding a 1989 Top 10 list. They talked about her cultural irrelevancy. C'mon Karyn, prove them wrong! (I hope their new song is all sorts of crazy singing.)

I wonder if they still have plans to do the series? I need to revisit her albums!

I remember preferring her second single to her hit. I guess you're referring to "I Remember" which was in a vein similar to Always Be My Baby, and featured some nice whistle notes and remixed by Rodney Jerkins. A really nice video was shot for this song, although I don't believe it was ever officially released.

Her best single remains her actual debut single "Yesterday" from summer 1998:
Take me baaaaack.

That wasn't her debut single ^ I wiki'ed her. Her debut album came out in '94. Her big hit was actually from her 3rd album. "Yesterday" is from her sophomore album
This is her debut single (in it's popular radio remix form):
She has a nice really nice voice but her big hit was so bland to me. All the earlier material I've listened to was so much better.

They tried to push her as a Brandy/Monica/Aaliyah type back in the 90s.

I remember I used to love her song "I Love You" and was mad that her 2nd album wasn't released in the States.

I remember I used to love her song "I Love You" and was mad that her 2nd album wasn't released in the States. Motown had big plans to release the second album "It's Not Over" in the US. It's great that "Yesterday" did get a release, but the label wasn't seeing success so they eventually dropped the ball on the album. "I Love You" was slated as being the 2nd or third single and was going to cross her over into Top 40 pop. It is a very simple ballad with a crazy hook. The song managed respectable success in Japan and luckily the video was shot, and some remixes were issued. Really happy that Atlantic picked up her third album. It's worth seeking out some of her soundtrack cuts as well. Debelah definitely deserved bigger success, but she got a few shots with the majors.

YES! I hope this means she's considering recording new solo material!
