"I Really Want You" is my favourite from the album. As of right now, I would agree with that, although there are times when I go back to "1973." I enjoy the majority of the tracks that made it.

James may remain popular around the world but I just saw his new video. I think that will probably be the final straw for his career in the US though. Besides the song not being the greatest, that video was absolutely a joke. I'm actually surprised with the HUGE success of his first album that his second album just isn't doing well in the US. I guess that's what happens when so much $$ is thrown into breaking an artist the first time around. Those Oprah and SNL performance slots don't come around for every record release. That huge hit "You're Beautiful" probably may his first album HUGE but also decreased his chances for a longterm career in the US. Strange really.

This CD didn't do too hot, obviously. For only having one big hit in the states, I don't think he did too bad though. I don't Daniel Powter's sophomore cd's going to do this well. Give Me Some Love and Same Mistake are the only songs I still listen to regularly, when his first cd had 6 or 7 favorites on it. I still listen to High and Wisemen daily.

He'll be playing some U.S. dates this summer, touring with Sheryl Crow. Would love to see him, but I don't think it's feasible.

James Blunt: My Record Label Told Me to Stop Tweeting 10:40 PM PST 12/02/2014 by Abid Rahman "You're Beautiful" singer has become notorious for his witty and brutal putdowns of Twitter trolls James Blunt may have apologized for his most famous hit, but his never back down attitude on Twitter made his record label nervous enough to ask him to stop tweeting. The "You're Beautiful" singer revealed to the Radio Times that he only went on Twitter in the first place at the behest of Atlantic Records who felt he needed to raise his profile. “My record label signed me up to Twitter. It’s not something I would choose to be on because I think it's remarkable that in this day and age we allow people to voice their opinions as if they were fact, and the fact that people take it seriously is remarkable,” he said. Blunt says Atlantic wanted him to promote himself, his albums and his tours but he was struck by the level of vitriol he found on Twitter and the level of importance society now attaches to Tweeted opinions. "I went on there I saw how people could be quite abusive – not just to me but to everyone online – and I was amazed that I even considered taking it seriously. What happens on Twitter makes the news, you see articles about what people say on Twitter and that is a madness. And [that is] someone’s opinion voiced in their bedroom, feeling confident in their bedroom, probably with their trousers round their ankles while they write five nasty words to someone and yet we give that person the time of day." Blunt was the brunt of particular abuse, but the ex-soldier took it in his stride, preferring instead to make fun of the abusers, poke fun of himself and reveal how ridiculous the whole thing was. “I thought 'I am not going to take that seriously; I am going to laugh at them and I am going to laugh at myself.'" Blunt's Twitter comebacks have drawn praise from unexpected places, including comedian Ricky Gervais, but Atlantic weren't so keen on his frank rebuttals. "So as soon as I was on Twitter I started doing that. My record label immediately asked me to stop as it opened Pandora’s box." Despite Atlantic's pleas, Blunt is continuing to take on the Twitter trolls and continuing to win grudging admiration from the unlikeliest of people.

My thoughts on the twitter situation - why even tell the public your label asked you to take it down a notch unless you wanted some attention thrown your way (and he is apparently at least getting one article out of it). It's all a joke but someone who cares about their fans could use it to keep them informed of what they are up to especially a mid-level older artist who isn't in the media spotlight every day. You have to market yourself these days if you want a career. Not everyone is Bob Dylan.
