I think it's a very solid album, with no bad tracks on it (well, maybe "Happy Being Me" isn't exactly a masterpiece... ). That sad, "Baby" is the only song that really grabs me.

I'm mad it's 2 dollars more @ Target.
I'm listening right now and so far, so good. "Here We Go Again" is real nice.

I think this CD should do better than her last CD did. I don't even know the debut numbers or the sales total for her last CD effort, but I know this one will do better.

I think this CD should do better than her last CD did. I don't even know the debut numbers or the sales total for her last CD effort, but I know this one will do better. Black Diamond debuted @ #141, selling 10k (it peaked @ #46). Mahogany Soul debuted @ #22, selling 71k. Stone Love debuted @ #14, selling 53k. The Art of Love & War is projected to sale 35-40k next week.

Billboard.com for the 11/3 charts:

She came so close to the top-10; I really wanted her to crack it but I'm content that she debuted so high and so strong, especially considering the sales slump.

We're looking at real longevity here. She keeps releasing albums and singles and still has a decently sized profile. Add in her work with the Sequence in the 80's and Vertical Hold in the early 90's and you get a career span of 25+ years. Amazing! Too bad she never really had huge hits and album sales...

I wonder if she'll get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

"Happy Being Me" Billboard Review:
Soul songstress Angie Stone, lovingly crowned a modern-day Aretha Franklin, has already made her triumphant return to the No. 2 position on Adult R&B Airplay and top 25 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart with "Baby," the first single from fourth album "The Art of Love & War." On its heels is the resplendent "Happy Being Me," a cozy, dreamily layered anthem of self-acceptance. "I'm so happy being me, I'm regretting nothing," Stone rails with a sonic smile on her face—which she says is her favorite song on the set, marking mental and spiritual contentment. Co-written and co-produced by the singer, the gentle arrangement, complete with acoustic guitars and harmonica, quenches like lemonade on a sunny day. The fact that the whole deal is delivered on the revitalized Stax label adds a finishing touch of enchantment. —Chuck Taylor

"Happy Being Me" is not a good single choice at all.
