hey go u for creating a delta topic.
the album is obviously a shoe-in for number one - the single still holding on nicely. i think it will all depend on single number 2. if it catches on delts could have another successful album - i just hope that it has a decent video unlike in this life

ITL was too simple I believe.

4 days left... right? this will be her another SMASH!! i hope it's gonna be released in my country soon too. I think so...I mean she brought out an album in Japan last year and she has said that she is planning to go abroad in 2008. Even maybe in Brasil. So I guess she'll release in Korea too. Was Innocent Eyes and/or Mistaken Identity released there?

Nymph Delta's siren song Christine Sams October 21, 2007 EMERGING from a dark pool, Delta Goodrem looks like a woman reborn. The pop superstar was filming her new video clip before the release of her much-anticipated third album, Delta, which arrived in record stores yesterday. The video clip, one of the most expensive made in Australia in the past five years, was filmed in a Sydney warehouse. It was created for Goodrem's next single, Believe Again, which will be released late next month. Locals may not have realised that inside the plain red brick building, the star was morphing into a range of mystical characters — including a water nymph, a crystal-covered mystic and a flying goddess, swathed in navy satin. Goodrem's long-term boyfriend, Irish singer Brian McFadden, was on set to watch the video clip being made. The sultry video shoot, which took place over two days, also involved Goodrem hanging mid-air from a harness — the first time she has tried mid-air acrobatics as part of a video sequence. "It's not meant to look like hard work, but it has been a bit uncomfortable," said Goodrem, laughing. "There's flames and water — it's a real fantasy sequence, but it's quite dark. It's not going to be a bright-looking clip." At 22, Goodrem is on the comeback trail with Delta, after a muted reaction to her second album, Mistaken Identity, three years ago, which was released soon after she went into remission from cancer. The first single off her new album debuted at No.1 earlier this month, signalling an exciting return for the pop star. As one of Australia's most successful ARIA award winners, Goodrem has beaten off a number of personal highs and lows — including the separation of her parents — to return to the top of the charts. She will now wait a week to see whether her album will land at the No.1 spot. "I never, ever take anything for granted. I don't expect anything, but I hope people will go out and enjoy it," she said. Delta Goodrem returns to old school By Kate Sikora October 22, 2007 12:00am STUDENTS at Hills Grammar have never been so excited to attend school as they were yesterday, when former pupil Delta Goodrem made a triumphant return to her old school. Looking every inch the glamorous star, Goodrem caused a frenzy in the playground. Police were forced to form a barrier around the petite songstress as she was mobbed by hundreds of fans. Dressed in yellow from head to toe, the she was hard to miss as she chatted with students and others keen for a glimpse of the school's most famous former pupil. It has been seven years since Goodrem, 22, left the school to pursue a career in music but it wasn't long before she spotted a few of old friends. "It's very nostalgic to be back here, she said. "School has grown so much." Goodrem, originally from Glenhaven, in Sydney's northwest, sang Happy Birthday to the school, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Afterwards, she cut a cake as excited fans swarmed around her. Goodrem, who was without her boyfriend Brian McFadden, spent half an hour signing autographs and posing for photographs. Earlier in the day, she visited The Daily Telegraph's office, where she blogged with online readers. News.com.au

I thought her and Brian broke up. Huh. Goes to show you shouldn't believe everything you read.
I'm not a big fan of the new album. Not yet anyway. It's a lot poppier than Mistaken Identity (which I loved) and it seemed like the lyrics are so-so. I have to listen to it a few more times before I can decide if it's worthy of MI.

First US review:
Australian singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem is not well known in the U.S. Her single "Lost Without You" didn't perform well on this side of the world, whereas all her songs shot to No. 1 in Australia. The underperformance was a combination of her contemporary styling and current mainstream standard that put her U.S. album debut at a halt as it peaked at No. 18 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart but never entered the Hot 100 ("Lost Without You" was reworked as an alternate version for the U.S. and can be purchased on iTunes). The release of her previous records in the U.S. was put on hold.
Delta returned to the studio once more for her third recording, a self-titled effort consisting of catchy pop tunes covered in maturity. She gathered a powerful team of writers and producers who's careers have fallen into the hands of some of the world's greatest including U2, Madonna, Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera. John Shanks (K. Clarkson, C. Aguilera, Celine Dion, Ashlee Simpson) lent his helping hand as part of the team who recorded the new sound for Delta.
The record opens with her second single from the record "Believe Again." It's almost majestic as she sings about everything she's given up on until the one moment she finds happiness. It doesn't signify a strong opening to the album, but leaves the mind wondering what is to follow.
The second track is the first single released in Australia from the record called "In This Life." Delta is well aware of her surroundings and what she has overcome. At a tender age of 18 she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and has since then been clean of the cancer. She has been through a few relationships that didn't work out and even attempted a world-wide career that has only built in a few countries outside of her native Australia. She sings about knowing how far she has come and where she is going.
Filled with pop songs tainted with her piano playing, "Possessionless" and "You Will Only Break My Heart" can remind us of the bubble gum era that faded out to hip-hop.
It's in "Woman" she finds herself all grown up from the child piano singer-songwriter she was in 2003 with her debut album. She sings "I'm not some girl who don't know what she wants/ I'm a woman and I need to be touched/ And I need to be loved/ Cuz being just your woman is not enough." Behind the makeup and beauty, she's a person who wants respect and love. A big departure from her previous songs recorded, this marks Delta's maturity as a 20 something year old discovering what she wants out of life. There's no denying her strength vocally near the end of the song either.
"I Can't Break It To My Heart" is a lie to herself. When relationships go bad, sometimes people tend to pretend everything is ok because it hurts too bad to admit the truth. Here she expresses she isn't able to let herself know he's gone and she wants to believe he loves her so she can survive. Not a ballad, but not an uptempo song, it perfectly captures the emotion through the lyrics and the pop rockish edge she has aquired.
"One day I'll learn to like myself/ One day I'll get it right/ I'll try till time catches up with me/ One day I'll be too old to care," she smoothly says about everything being ok one day. She seems to have goals like learning Japanese and learning guitar.
Delta is closed with "Angels in the Room." Hauntingly, she finds peace on the winding road of change.
"Eyes On Me" was discarded from the final setlist and recorded by Celine Dion for her upcoming record Taking Chances, boosting Delta's chance of success in the U.S.
Delta was released only in Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand this past Saturday and can be found on Amazon and Sony music stores. Compared to her previous Innocent Eyes and Mistaken Identity, Delta is strong and shows promise for when the official date to be released in the U.S. and globally is announced sometime this winter.

I am absolutely LOVING this album. The best thing I have heard in some time. It is an absolute crime that Sony couldn't make "Lost Without You" a hit over here in the US. (Such a fantastic song, and the US alternate edit was even better). As much as I loved Innocent Eyes, i thought her second album was terrible. But this new CD is exactly where she should be. Great songs with very strong vocals. It's her delivery of the lyric and melody that really hold you. I hope this album ends up doing really well in Australia, and gets a proper release in the US. (remixes too would be nice!)

Believe again debuts and #2 on the Aria charts and Delta moves up to #5 on the album chart. It didnt say how much she sold but it told us that #12 sold 11,000 so if Delta is #5 then she prob sold around 14k - 16k add that on to her 78,500 copies and she's around 93,000 copies =]
