Wasn't the album title winner supposed to be released a few days ago? She just said in a radio interview that she will have it in a week or 2.

Hopefully, it's a cool CD title. Sometimes, fan-generated ones and artist-selected titles can go bust. We know Missy needs as much "coolness" surrounding this project as possible.

Missy Elliott Previews Seventh AlbumMariel Concepcion, N.Y. An eight-song preview of rapper Missy Elliott's upcoming seventh album last night (March 11) reveals that it is shaping up to be a feast of Elliott's trademark eclectic beats mixed with tinges of '70s Washington D.C. go-go funk. Featuring production by Timbaland Souldiggaz, Danjahandz, Timbaland and Point Guard, the Goldmind/Atlantic Records album -- which is due in late May and set to be titled by fans -- includes first single "Best, Best," in which Elliott, repeating the last word to every sentence throughout, rhymes, "We fuss fuss / we fight fight / we make up by the end of the night night." The Jazmin Sullivan-assisted "Like When You Play The Music," the drum-heavy "Hip-Hop Don't Die" and the sensual "Milk & Cookies," in which Elliott lightheartedly harmonizes about her capabilities in the bedroom, among other things, will also appear on the album. The finished tracklist will likely contain ten or eleven songs. As previously reported, Elliott has already released two tracks from the set - "Ching-A-Ling" and "Shake Your Pom Pom," produced by Timbaland. Both tracks appear on the "Step Up 2 The Streets" soundtrack, which was made available last month. The album is the musical companion the Touchstone Pictures dance film of the same name. The new album comes two years after her 2006 "Respect M.E." set, which charted at No. 26 on the European Top 100 Albums tally.

She seems to repeat herself in songs....
This kinda sounds odd... first single "Best, Best," in which Elliott, repeating the last word to every sentence throughout, rhymes, "We fuss fuss / we fight fight / we make up by the end of the night night."
Anyway, Im still intrigued to listen to it.

Album Preview: Missy Elliott’s 7th AlbumIt’s safe to say that 2008 has taken off with a testosterone-driven kick, with successful and media-driven releases by many male hip-hop artists. One thing’s for sure though, this summer is going to be a hot one for the ladies, especially the always dynamic Missy Elliott, who’s anticipating her as-yet-untitled seventh studio album in June. Though a multi-tasking legend in the game (writing, producing, rapping, and singing), Missy’s recruited some trusted beats from Timbaland as well as some fresh names for the upcoming album. At the moment, she’s still in the studio adding her final magic touches, but Rap-Up.com got the exclusive chance to listen to the bulk of the tracks—in their rawest form—and we’re ready to let the secret out. Reminiscent of the hypnotic and electro-heavy beats from 2001’s Miss E…So Addictive, this new set of tracks could very well catch fire and leave everything else in its ashes. 1. "Act a Fool" Produced by SouldiggazBringing back producers who dabbled on her last album, Missy dived right into her distinct dance floor beats. On the expected feel-good anthem, she urges the ladies, “Hands up if you’re looking for a baller.” 2. "Best, Best" Produced by DanjahandzThough he turned out Britney’s album, Danja didn’t do much for this track, although Missy herself claims that it’s “what ‘Irreplaceable’ did for Beyoncé’s album” and plans to release it as her first single. Mid-tempo with a lyrical ode to her man. Missy repeats the last word of every line (”We fuss fuss / we fight fight / we make up by the end of the night night.”) 3. "Shake Your Pom Pom" Produced by TimbalandIntroduced from the Step Up 2: The Streets soundtrack, this one opens with a big band jazz vibe, and then continues as an energetic drum-heavy track. Missy does some serious celeb name dropping on this track; in fact, she name checks Beyoncé on a few of these songs. 4. "Like When You Play the Music" featuring Jazmin Sullivan Produced by TimbalandMissy calls this one the “summer jam,” as in something easy to ride to with the top down. Very R&B 2.0, this track is one of those hip-hop/electro mixes that takes a while to get used to. 5. "All For You" Produced by SouldiggazOn this energetic, club-worthy, and one of the more addictive songs on the album, Missy displays her swagger, claiming, “I could rock sweats and kicks and dudes still be after me.” 6. "Love" Produced by TimbalandThis one will take you back to Missy’s days with Ginuwine, Aaliyah, and Tweet—classy R&B with a sensual twist, thick with a reverberating mid-tempo beat. Like a lot of current baby-making music, this one’s mainly about the instrumentals rather than the lyrics, as she clearly uses vocal manipulation equipment ala T-Pain. 7. "Please Don’t Go" Produced by Point GuardMissy calls this one “Milk & Cookies” since she says it’s like dessert. It’s a clear ‘80s throwback, complete with rave-like beats and sexy vocals. A new producer was a good choice on this one since this vibe is unlike any other track on the album. 8. "Hip-Hop Don’t Die" Produced by T. GoochMissy came correct when it comes to street politics on this one, as she reminds us of where hip-hop’s been and how far it’s come. The most thought-provoking track thus far, the basic, yet catchy beat takes a backseat to her preaching. –Rajul Punjabi in New York

Complex Magazine's Take on the Album Preview Similar to Rap-Up's take on the songs, Complex Mag gives a run-down of their thoughts on the new album preview. This time it makes me a little more excited.
The Missy Elliott, Timbaland and Danjahandz trifecta is like big girl “Sexy Back 2008.” Sorry, were you expecting Beyoncé? So Missy isn’t clocking “Supa Dupa Fly” pounds these days, the thicker, edgier Missy—circa 2002—returns on her new untitled album. Her excuse for not showing up to Chelsea’s Roc The Mic studios yesterday entertained press through pre-recorded interludes in between unmixed tracks, “I was busy walking Oprah’s dogs” and “washing Denzel Washington’s cars.” Comedy gold only Missy could pull off took us through eight tracks of future summer anthems (slow jam included), coupled with her devilishly playful how-to’s for shaking (insert female anatomy)…
1. “Act A Fool” (produced by Souldiggaz) More hand-claps, thank you very much. “Shake that donkey/show my monkey.” Never any shame in her game. I knooow you see it.
2. “Best Best” (produced by Danja) No DJ Khaled or MIA connection on this one, just M-I-S-E listing what makes the man. One minute men redeem themselves here. Sounds like Missy found herself another (male) mid-tempo strip club anthem. Pause.
3. “Shake Ur Pom Pom” (produced by Timbaland) The Ying Yang Twins want their song back. Tim and Missy’s experiment with go-go music does E.U.’s “Da Butt” justice.
4. “Like When You Play The Music” (produced by Timbaland) VA’s favorite always reminds us of her short-lived years as a part of ’90s r&b group, Sista. With the latest addition to the J Records roster, Jasmine Sullivan by her side on the hook, her pipe game, ahem vocals are pretty serious.
5. “All For You” (produced by Souldiggaz) Synthesizers are like MySpace pages, everyone in music has them.
6. “Love” (produced by Timbaland) The incorrigible vocoder. Tim threw a hall effect on Missy’s voice and sprinkled the slow burning track with the twinkling keys from Playa’s “Cheers To You,” also heard on Hova’s “Jigga What Jigga Who,” and JT’s “Until The End Of Time.”
7. “Milk & Cookies” (produced by Point Guard) New wave rap in the key of Snoop’s “Sexual Seduction.” Missy singing and rapping over it is refreshing. Relax, no vocoder.
8. “Hip Hop Don’t Die” (produced by Tiffany/Woodworks) Rappers from the ‘90s show their age when they hate on hip-hop’s new school. Only Missy shows the progression from the old to the new, be it good or bad. “If you don’t write your rhymes let your ghostwriter do the talk.” Jasmine Sullivan assists on the chorus. Not too shabby.
This untitled album will have a name before its June release.

Missy Elliott's 'Phenomenal'?
According to HMV UK, Missy Elliott's forthcoming disc will be entitled Phenomenal and hit stores June 16 in the UK, which would be a U.S. release on June 17.
If Missy does indeed drop on June 17, she will be competing with Coldplay's new release.
Thoughts?

I hope thats not the title. It will always remind me of 2 things: LL Cool J's Phenomenon album and Maya Angelou.

Phenomenal is not that good of a title. I don't remember what mine was that I entered, but it was miles better than some Phenomenal.
