I'm going to Macy's show in Atlanta on Saturday. It's over 100 degrees here and the show is OUTDOORS. Not pretty! It should become a bit more bearable after sunset, but DAMN it's been hot!

BTW, Macy put on a pretty damn good show. I had a great time. She did almost everything from "Big".

LOL Macy, STFU and sing now! Macy's Pimp AmbitionsWe thought Macy Gray was a pretty great music-maker. But it seems the soul singer's got high hopes for a new career... When asked by Rolling Stone magazine what other profession she could see herself doing, Macy came up with a surprising answer. She wants to be a pimp. Macy told the mag: "I could see myself pimpin'. I know they say pimpin' ain't easy but it just seems like something I could do. "It's just so accessible. I could be Heidi Fleiss. "Other than that, I would be a professional poker player. "I'm not that good, but I could make money at it. Yesterday I played and I made $600 (£300), and today I made $700 (£350)." All she needs is the staff then, eh?

LOL. I meant to post the video. Macy paid for it herself.
And I'm checking out her concert on Sunday. I'll let you guys know how it was.

And I'm checking out her concert on Sunday. I'll let you guys know how it was. Her show is pretty enjoyable. I love the "Big", so I was happy to see that she performed nearly every track. With her own version of a well-known JT track thrown in the mix.

So, Shooter, how was the show? Macy Gray covers Rod Stewart at Hollywood Bowl She belts it out for the 'pimps and hos'Macy Gray covered Rod Stewart, Bob Marley and Deee-Lite during her performance at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles last night (August 26). Running through several tracks from her latest album 'Big', she thrilled an 11,000-strong audience at the KCRW World Festival with an elaborate stage production and wardrobe changes that ranged from a disco-era white-and-red pantsuit to a sharp red suit replete with a ringmaster-style top hat. Natalie Cole made a surprise appearance during Gray's first song, 'Finally Made Me Happy', but a rumoured duet with Justin Timberlake (who appears on Gray's latest album) never materialised. "Ladies and gentemen, boys and girls, pimps and hos -- all you sexy people look especially beautiful when you shake your ass," she said. In addition to playing old favourites, Gray paid tribute to Stewart by singing bits of 'Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?' as well as Bob Marley with 'No Woman No Cry' and Deee-Lite with 'Groove Is In The Heart'. Gray wrapped up her performance with her hit single 'I Try', which prompted a massive audience sing-along. Earlier in the evening, Brazilian Girls delivered a strong set led by seductive, multilingual frontwoman Sabina Sciubba who strutted down the Bowl's catwalk in a revealing catsuit. But it was Zap Mama's set that garnered the most audience participation, with the crowd members clapping and singing along to their Afro-pop, Latin-tinged rhythms. Macy Gray played: 'Finally Made Me Happy' (with Natalie Cole) Everybody' ' Psychopath' 'Get Out (Quick!)' 'Glad You're Here' 'Shoo Be Doo' 'Call Me/Do Sumthin' 'One' 'Sweet Baby' 'OK' '6 Feet Under/Strange Behavior' 'Ghetto Love' 'Treat Me Like Your Money' 'Sexual Revolution' 'Oblivion' 'I Try'

Her show was awesome! She sounded great (for Macy) and she had so much stage presence that even when she did a song the crowd really didn't know, they still gave off so much energy! My favorite performance, of course, was "Treat Me Like Your Money" but the whole set was so energetic and entertaining. I'd definitely recommend a Macy Gray show to anyone!

I think she'll get the Best Urban/Alternative nomination. Me too. That, and perhaps Best R&B Female Vocal Performance.
