Wait until the CD drops and anybody who wants to know can look at the back cover.

R. Kelly's Double Up Tracklist Revealed Still not revealed? R. Kelly's trial date"Everything I did in the past," R. Kelly says of his new album, "I'm about to double up on it." Double the pleasure, double the fun, double the extended metaphors for his bone; it's all there on Double Up, Robert Sylvester Kelly's latest epic, due May 29 on Jive. Like every R. Kelly album before it, Double Up will eagerly and inexplicably soundtrack any church picnic, hotbox session, or freakin' of dat booty you might be partaking in. Fans of TP.3 Reloaded might've wondered how their boy Kells could possibly top the untoppable two-fer of "Sex Weed" and "(Sex) in the Kitchen", but Double Up's got that on lock: "Freaky in the Club"? "The Zoo"? "Sex Planet"? The man gets around. Of course, we couldn't leave this little track-order curio uncommented-on: "Sex Planet"-- we delight in the possibility of a line rhyming "Venus" with, well, you know-- immediately proceeds "Rise Up", the track R. penned to commemorate the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings. That R. Kelly; he's nothing if not tactful. And, like every R. Kelly album before it, Double Up is doubled-over with guest spots; this time, from the likes of Snoop, Luda, T.I.P., Polow Da Don, and, on "Rock Star," Kid Rock. From this, we gather R. Kelly hasn't met a rock star in, like, eight years. In addition to crafting Double Up, Robert's apparently been working on the next "Trapped in the Closet" installments (13-23 due this summer, allegedly!) and surfing the web (parents: now might be a good time to invest in that Net Nanny). He's started a YouTube channel in hopes of revealing the inner life of the man they call Kells. If the first episode is any indication, R. Kelly's life consists of singing silly sex songs off the dome to unsuspecting ladies. Exactly as I'd hoped. Observe: And me? I accept! Double Up: 01 The Champ (ft. Swizz Beatz) 02 Double Up (ft. Snoop Dogg) 03 Tryin' to Get a Number (ft. Nelly) 04 Get Dirty (ft. Chamillionaire) 05 Leave Your Name 06 Freaky in the Club 07 The Zoo 08 I'm a Flirt Remix (ft. T.I. & T-Pain) 09 Same Girl (ft. Usher) 10 Real Talk 11 Hook it Up (ft. Huey) 12 Rock Star (ft. Ludacris & Kid Rock) 13 Best Friend (ft. Keyshia Cole & Polow Da Don) 14 Rollin' 15 Sweet Tooth 16 Havin' a Baby 17 Sex Planet 18 Rise Up

I am just so shocked at that.
No "Blow It Up"?
No song with Rick Ross or Kanye West?
Otherwise, it would've been perfect.

I can live w/o Rick Ross, but I would've liked Kanye West instead of Huey.
Also, "Blow It Up", I never heard all of it, and I didn't really even like it anyways...
so actually, I just wish Kanye was on it and I would be satisified.
Nelly and Chamillionaire will be cool to hear also...damn why couldnt kanye be on the track! DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!
oh well almost all cds guests let me down
i should stop ragging lol but icant! damn you r kelly i want kanye!
did he at least produce anything?

Ew, I expected much more given his long history of at least more than decent albums...
- The first six songs leave me numb, this hip hop experiment only worked with the songs he was featured on in recent months.
- "The Zoo" is intriguing but the lyrics are dumber than usual (not that he's the greatest lyricist in the world, but still).
- "I'm A Flirt" still sounds good to me, but after three months I'm almost saturated.
- "Same Girl" is OK, but given Kells and Usher's stature it's a bit underwhelming.
- "Hook It Up" is pretty cool in my books.
- "Rock Star" is not the mess I was expecting (Goodie Mob's "Just About Over", for example, is the kind of song I though this would be, but that's another decade and artist), but the sort of symphonic bridge scares me. Kid Rock only screams a bit towards the end of the song, when live samples of people cheering and applauding kick in. Ew.
- "Sweet Tooth" is a rehash of "In The Kitchen", it even features the same drop sample. Unfortunate rehash, that is.
- "Sex Planet" is also cool in my books.
- "Rise Up" could have been much, much worse than what it is.
- Bonus track "I Like Love" sounds like a reggae-like rehash of "Bad Man". Unfortunate rehash in this case too.
As I noted before, the lyrics are dumber than usual, and the rest of the songs are undeniably in his style, but they sound average to me.
I will definitely pass on it this time, he can still think he's the Ali or Marvin Gaye of our time but I won't contribute to his ego trip.

Why isn't this man in jail?????
He filmed a sex video with a 15-year girl!!
If I did this, I'd be in jail.

Why isn't this man in jail????? He filmed a sex video with a 15-year girl!! If I did this, I'd be in jail. A lot will depend if R. Kelly knew the girl was 15. If a woman was sleeping with a 15 year old boy like all these teachers are doing she would get off with a slap on the wrist....the only difference is that these teachers know the boys they sleep with are underage.

Well....the album is as horrible as I thought it would be. I've officially given up hope of R. ever releasing any more classic material. *cherishes CF forever*

HITS:
NEXT WEEK IN REVIEW: Jive/ZLG soul star R. Kelly's Double Up hit retail yesterday and is on target to top next week's HITS Album chart, with a total that looks just this side of 400k.

Like his albums usually do, Double Up debuts at #61 on the R&B albums chart on street violations.
