LOL
"Lazy Eye" still has some life left as well, it seems. The song is up 14-12 on the Modern Rock chart, and is up 16-7 on the Hot 100 Bubbling Under.

They seem to be late-night faves these days... appearing on Jimmy Kimmel's show last night.

"Lazy Eye" has become an unexpected Alt. anthem, kind of like "1979", which it emulates. Hmm.
I hope they can release a succesful follow-up single. They should re-release WTOT.

Yup, late last year I never would've thought "Lazy Eye" could crack the top 5 at Alternative! WTOT is still my favorite on the album, so that'd be great if it got re-released.

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Silversun PickupsBy Jason Matthew Smith Not five seconds into a phone call with Silversun Pickups’ frontman Brian Aubert, sirens are screaming past his place in Los Angeles. Hey, that’s L.A. Putting on his best California cool, Aubert shuts out the noise and slips into a laidback monologue about meeting a really nice girl when the band played at the Sundance Film Festival, promising to put her on the list for an upcoming show in Utah—and then promptly losing her information. But there are bigger fish to fry, because he and bandmates Nikki Monninger, Christopher Guanlao, and Joe Lester are about to hit the road with Snow Patrol, promoting their debut full-length Carnavas (Dangerbird). That, and tell Harp a few things we probably didn’t know about his band. 1) One time I went camping with a friend outside Fresno and the car broke down. A guy picked us up and took us back to his place, and the only way he would help was if I played air guitar to a DVD of Led Zeppelin. He had a big-screen TV, but it was broke, so he used a little TV with rabbit ears, right in front of the big screen. We were a little nervous, but figured at the end of the day, we could take him. No one believes me when I tell them this story. But it’s true. 2) Every Valentine’s Day, Nikki goes to every band member’s place and leaves a package of M&Ms and an orange. No one knows why. 3) When Nikki was young she was so obsessed with Guns ’n’ Roses she wore a gun earring in one ear, and a rose earring in the other. 4) Christopher is such a Lakers fan that he has an Excel spreadsheet with the team’s wins and losses over the season. 5) The only other name for the band we were going to go with was A Couple of Couples, because at the time there were two couples in the band. 6) I’m from L.A., born and raised. My father is from L.A., born and raised. My grandfather is too. And it’s very possible my great grandmother is from here. But the other half of my family is from Hawaii. I’m Pacific Rim, bra! 7) Joe is like a scientist on the keyboards, but he’s also a master chef. In the kitchen he’s a scientist, just like he is on the keyboards. He’s fascinated with cooking. Actually, everybody in the band is good at cooking except Nikki. 8) My first rock crush was Kim Gordon. One day at Spaceland, I saw Kim. I had that 20-year-old, beer-in-gut bravery going on, so I went up to her and said, “Hi, you were my first rock crush.” She went, “Awww …” and turned around and walked away. 9) Our original drummer didn’t know how to play drums. She knew two beats, and I had to kick the bass drum to start and stop. 10) The moment when we knew things had changed for us was when we opened up with Elliott Smith in Los Angeles. We were really nervous and we cut a short set, and were about to walk off the stage when someone in the audience began yelling out some of our own song titles we hadn’t played. That’s when we knew that this was us, that this was our band. It’s like when you gain weight, you don’t really know it until someone tells you.

It's still selling well. I hope they can hit 300k or so eventually.

MTV really must feel it is worth investing in this band! They are giving them another huge round of promo this month, a la Paramore. WTOT is also on the cusp of the Top 10 on Alternative. If they do some TV promo, I can see their album eventually shipping gold. 18 months ago, I never could have imagined this feat possible.
