Shania's France Fan Club site now has a 2008 CMA page filled with a lot of Shania CMA photos. Go HERE to access the CMA page on Shania's France Fan Club site.
Also, here's a new article: CMA reception brings tears to Shania TwainBy BEVERLY KEEL Of course, it wasn't Shania's back that garnered immediate attention when she walked onstage in a low-cut Missoni gown to present the Entertainer of the Year award during Wednesday's CMA Awards. This marked her first public appearance since news spread of her divorce from her producer husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange. Shania who hasn't released a studio album since Up! in 2002 was moved to tears by the standing ovation her surprise appearance earned from the Sommet Center crowd. "She was floored by the reaction of the crowd," said her spokesman, Jason Owen. "It's probably one of the best nights she's had in Nashville." When Kenny Chesney took the stage to accept the award, he said out loud what was on the minds of many, including those who gasped in the pressroom. "You look really good tonight!" Kenny told her. Backstage, Kenny told reporters, "I flirted with her onstage." Shania and Kenny have gone through marital splits in the public eye. "Relationships are hard anyway, for anybody," Kenny said. "It's even tougher when it's a spectator sport. I wish her all the best really. I think she is obviously an amazing artist. It was really great to have her be a part of this night. I think she can do anything she wants." Earlier that night, Shania shared laughs and swapped stories in a dressing room with Reese Witherspoon, Martina McBride and Jennifer Nettles. After the show, she clearly had a great time at the Universal Music Group's party at its downtown headquarters, dancing and requesting songs by Pink and Kayne West. On Thursday, Shania boarded a plane for her home in Switzerland. The Tennessean

From Taylor Swift's blog: "....... But the real moment that brought on this wave of gratitude was when Shania Twain HERSELF walked up and introduced herself to me. Shania Twain, as in.. The reason I wanted to do this in the first place. Shania Twain, as in.. the most impressive and independent and confident and successful female artist to ever hit country music. She walked up to me and said she wanted to meet me and tell me I was doing a great job. She was so beautiful, guys. She really IS that beautiful. All the while, I was completely star struck. After she walked away, I realized I didn't have my camera. Then I cried."
Shania also visited with Reese Witherspoon, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles, and Billy Ray Cyrus. Shania on the red carpet talking with Billy Ray Cyrus
The following photo is from the UMG/Nashville CMA afterparty where Shania is said to have "mingled" with George Strait and others. That picture must have been awkward. I thought Lee Ann Womack didn't like Shania Twain at all.. because of Shania's pop-sound (hypocrit after releasing Something Worth Leaving Behind).

Lee Ann wasn't the first to say those things. I highly doubt she'll be the last. Similar anti-pop/crossover and anti-remix comments have come from some other unlikely sources, including Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood. Shania has a lot of class to go to the award shows (and parties) and "mingle" with other artists who have been less than supportive with their comments and actions.

Country.about.com has named their Top 10 Most Memorable Moments of the 2008 CMAs. Shania's presentation of the EOTY trophy is # 9 on the list. Here are the comments from that site: Shania Twain presenting CMA Entertainer of the YearIt's been quite a while since Shania Twain had been seen in Nashville. Can we hope she is recording for her next album? An album that will most certainly be Mutt-less. He's had such a big part of her rise to fame, but Shania is an excellent songwriter, and I'm sure she will come out on top. But back to her CMA Awards appearance. Shania was in attendance to present the big award of the night - CMA Entertainer of the Year. For the fourth time, the winner was once more Kenny Chesney. Shania looked lovely, and even Kenny acknowledged her appearance, telling her she looked "really good."Country.about.com

Shania Twain Has Tongues WaggingNov. 17, 2008 — Shania Twain was a surprise guest on last week’s Country Music Association Awards, making an appearance at the close of the show to present Kenny Chesney with the Entertainer of the Year award. "You look really good," Kenny told her as he started his acceptance speech, but people continued talking about her even after the show. "I actually didn’t see her," Carrie Underwood — who co-hosted the show with Brad Paisley — told reporters backstage. "Everything happened so fast. She was like a super-secret surprise guest, so they kind of kept her under wraps. But, you know, it was great to have her back. It’s definitely been awhile since she’s hung out with all of us. I think everybody missed her, and it’s great to have her back." Shania, who recently split with husband-producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange after 14 years of marriage, received a standing ovation from the industry-driven crowd. That was particularly noteworthy because she was the target of plenty of derision from Music Row when her album The Woman In Me started breaking sales records with its Def Leppard influences and her navel-baring videos. But it’s a new day. Shania’s rock influences aren’t nearly as boundary-pushing as the Metallica-like chords Jason Aldean used in his performance of "She’s Country," and there are plenty of new faces behind the scenes in the business who don’t remember Shania as a controversial figure. That’s also true among artists, including Taylor Swift, who was just five years old when The Woman In Me was released. Taylor met Shania for the first time at the awards, and she called the moment "awesome" in a blog posting. Shania told Taylor she’s "doing a great job," particularly meaningful since Taylor says the Canadian singer was her original inspiration. Shania, Taylor says, is "the most impressive and independent and confident and successful female artist to ever hit country music." And after their introduction was over, Taylor cried as she experienced a "wave of gratitude." Kenny, meanwhile, feels a kinship with Shania. Both have won the CMA’s Entertainer of the Year honor, and both have had their marriages end amid a wave of uncomfortable public speculation. "Relationships are hard anyway for anybody, but it’s even tougher when it’s a spectator sport," Kenny noted. "So I wish her all the best with it. Obviously she’s an amazing artist, and it was really great to have her be a part of [the awards]. I think that she can do anything she wants to do." "Great songs," he added, "is the key." Shania’s night on the town didn’t end at the CMA Awards. She also made an appearance at a Universal Records after-party, where People spotted her chatting with George Strait and Julianne Hough. GAC

She does look awesome. Can't wait for her next recording. It will be interesting if she finally records the personal songs she has written. Shania has often said that she keeps all personal songs for herself. If you look at all the recordings -- none of them really about herself. The closest: "From This Moment On," which she wrote for her parents. BTW-- If anyone thinks Shania was going to be defeated by a cheating husband, they probably need to review her bio again. She dealt with a lot worse. A class act.

Shania Twain Arrives in New York with Surprising CompanionBy Julie Dam and Anne Marie Cruz Originally posted Friday December 05, 2008 12:45 PM EST Shania Twain and Thiébaud at JFK on Dec. 4, 2008Photo by: FlynetThree weeks after getting a standing ovation for her surprise appearance at the CMA Awards, Shania Twain turned up in Manhattan Thursday with a number of friends from Switzerland, Nashville and Virginia for a weekend of Christmas shopping. Among her group of pals? Frederic Thiébaud, the ex-husband of Twain's former best friend who sources say broke up the country star's marriage to Robert "Mutt" Lange. Twain and Thiébaud were photographed arriving from Switzerland at JFK airport together. Back in May, Twain, 43, split from her producer husband Lange, 60. Though Lange denied having an affair to PEOPLE, sources close to the situation told PEOPLE that he was involved with Marie-Anne Thiébaud, a close friend and manager of the couple's chateau in Switzerland. The two couples had socialized together for years. Twain – who has been staying strong after the split – came to New York City to "hang and shop," says a source close to her. Among her group of pals is Thiébaud, whom the singer has considered a friend since the days when their families were close. Adds the source: "She loves NYC during the holidays." SHANIA TWAIN - TWAIN'S ESTRANGED HUSBAND APPROVES HER NEW ROMANCECaption: Shania Twain 42nd Annual ACM Awards at MGM Grand Hotel Casino Las Vegas, NevadaCountry singer SHANIA TWAIN's estranged husband has given his blessing to her rumoured new romance with his alleged mistress' ex. Twain split from husband Robert 'Mutt' Lange in May (08), after discovering he was romancing the couple's longtime secretary Marie-Anne Thiebaud, the manager of their Swiss estate. Thiebaud's husband, Frederick, joined the country star for a trip to New York last week (04Dec08), sparking reports the two hurt exes have formed a special friendship. And Lange insists he's not bothered by reports of their alleged romance. When asked if he was upset to see his Twain stepping out with his love rival he tells the National Enquirer, "Not at all. He's a great guy. I have no idea that is even the case. They are very good friends anyway. "I wouldn't mind if it was the case they were dating, not at all." Adding of his plans to marry Marie-Anne, Lange adds, "It isn't even that. The whole story was just a story as we are just friends in the same way Shania and Fred are. "Shania didn't name Marie-Anne as the third party in the divorce. She did not." SourceGoogle

When will she get back in the studio? I miss her stuff, it's been 6 years since UP! Complicated story, because she's already been in the studio, but with Mutt. So does she go back and start from scratch, or did the work out an agreement for her to release those tracks? Does she even want to? Though he hurt her very badly, I think Shania and Mutt are cordial towards each other and will, no doubt, be forced to be business partners so long as she's a successful singer. As of lately, I've not confirmed that she's in the studio, but I have heard more than whispers that suggest she is. I've also heard more than whispers that an announcement regarding a new album will come shortly after the new year.
