Wow. Tony Brown produced this? He doesn't usually overproduce so much (as much as I like cellos, I think adding one to this song was a bit much). Still a very good song.

Top 10, perchance? Carrie's pretty much the only one gunning for Top 10 right now; RF have buried their "Head" in the sand, and Luke, Chuck, Bucky, Jason, and even Tim aren't exactly zooming up the charts. Even if she stalls for a while, a single digit peak should be within reach. That would mean that she would outpeak Trick Pony's debut single "Pour Me", which got to #12.
How many other lead singers gone solo have out-peaked their former groups with their first single? Restless Heart got to #23 with their first single, whereas Larry Stewart got to #5 with his. That's the only one I know.

i hope this goes top 10! she hasn't had a good bullet so far this week (until today) but she has still bee gaining AI's. she needs to go top 10 before Tim passes her though. Lost Trailers, Keith U, Keith A, Taylor, and Sugarland will all fall below her in the next 3 weeks and Tim is the only one i see passing her so if she can hold on top 10 is very possible.
she should be #13 this week passing Sugarland and Taylor will fall behind her next week and possibly LT will go recurrent next week if they have lost AI's again because Carrie will pass them. so she could be #11 next week easily and that would outpeak the Trick Pony single.

I surely wouldn't be surprised to see Heidi have more success on her own than with Trick Pony. Either as a solo artist or with a band she's amazing though. Wonder if this has any chance at all at top 5?

Although it doesn't look to me like this song will make the top-10 on Billboard/R&R, "Johnny & June" sat at #10 on Mediabase as of this morning. So that should give it official top-10 status on Country Aircheck for the week, yes? If so, congratulations to Heidi Newfield on becoming the 4th solo female artist to chart a song in the country radio top-10 this year!

how? R&R hit predictor has it at #12. how can u tell its 12 ? On yesterday evening's Aircheck Weekly edition, there was an ad for the song, showing it as #9 on Mediabase/Aircheck, and #12 on R&R/Billboard this week.

I just wanted to say that I am extremely pleased that this album is selling as well as it is. It has been very consistent. It is a great record. I do think it is a shame that this song will most likely miss the Top 10. Every time I hear it on the radio it is preceded with the DJ saying that they have received a ton of requests for it.
It would be amazing if songs like this that have that much listener support would actually go to #1 as opposed to songs that may not have that much support but are performed by big artists.

Oh well, no Billboard Top 10 for you. At least she outpeaked "Pour Me", her former group's debut single, if only by one.

No word yet. Knowing Curb it'll probably be another 29 weeks before we hear another single from her.

Something that makes you go Hmmmm!
I'm surprised that this song peaked like it did (#11). Consider this.... Of all the 8 singles that Trick Pony released only ONE song did better than Heidi's first solo effort. On A Night Like This (2001 #4) was Trick Pony's ONLY T10. Heidi, on her own, has the next best single! Go figure!

I downloaded this song off iTunes almost before I even knew who it was singing it. I really liked it a lot from the get-go. BTW, it did manage to get to #9 two weekends ago on Mediabase and it was #10 last week. I also do agree it's a shame that big artists get such preferential treatment at the format, but that's just the way it is and has been for quite a long time. Not much that can be done to change it.

I'm surprised to see that this is going for adds at both AC and Hot AC. AC maybe, but Hot AC really surprises me. Even Martina, LeAnn and Rascal Flatts typically don't do well there. Good luck to her, but I'll be quite surprised if this does anything.

Good luck to her, but I'll be quite surprised if this does anything. Curb has strong small market AC connections that typically enables its artists' songs to come close to and in some cases, make the top-10 on the format (singles from Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes and, to look at a non-country Curb artist, Kim Locke have all fared pretty well on the format). The Hot AC adds date may just be Curb throwing it out there and seeing what happens.

The Hot AC adds date may just be Curb throwing it out there and seeing what happens. That's an interesting point. I've never made the connection before, but some crossovers to AC, especially "Nothin' Better To Do", seemed odd to me. This makes a lot of sense. Wynonna and Jo Dee Messina, both Curb artists, have also fared well at AC. Wynonna's even had a few AC only singles.
