Ugh...Doesn't look like this is going anywhere. It's down 250k for the week on Mediabase after a decent week last week. I hope they don't move back the album release, which is currently scheduled for late September.

I just don't understand why this isn't going anywhere. I wasn't surprised that Sinners Like Me went nowhere, even though I really liked it, but I just don't understand why radio hasn't jumped all over this. It seemed like a great summertime song. If this fails to reach the T40, he'll be lucky to even get his album released.

I love this song and I have been looking for the album only to find it hasn't been released yet. If this album doesn't get released then his Record Label is a fool,Eric Church is a very talented singer/songwriter.

However, unless a follow-up single does something, Eric will likely be dropped from the label altogether. And if this terrific song went nowhere (on the heels of another great song that went nowhere, in Sinners Like Me) then I really don't have much hope for a follow-up success.

He deserves SO MUCH MORE than what he's getting. It's a real shame. :(

I certainly have to agree about Church's superb songwriting skills; 'Two Pink Lines' is among my very favofrite singles of the past few years.
Terri Clark's 'The World Needs A Drink', another awesome composition of his and far and away my favorite song of hers, was also criminally underplayed, and I'm really disappointed that it wasn't the smash that 'Girls Lie Too' and 'I Just Wanna Be Mad' were.

Totally forgot Eric wrote "The World Needs a Drink." EXTREMELY underrated song.

I thought they REALLY dropped the ball by not releasing "Can't Take It With You" and "These Boots"

I think every song he has released was good enough to make top 10. It's an awful thing to see stars release awful songs and make it to the top 10 while lesser known people release decent hits that go nowhere. What can we do to support Eric Church?

He can really rock it out, and I'm disappointed that his producers tried to compress him so much. At least they kept some coolness, like the distorted electric banjo (and four swears; is that a record?) in "How 'Bout You" and the drum loops in "Two Pink Lines". Eric does indeed have some good songwriting chops. This song was proof, and I can't believe that he can't seem to hit Top 10 to save his @$$.

Look at the songs Sugarland, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts have out right now. They don't even need to try and singers like poor Eric are struggling. It's a real shame.

Eric is definitely underrated. 'Lightning' is one of my favorite songs. I still wish they had released it as an actual single, instead of just putting out a video.

You mean it wasn't officially a single!? I thought it was. I just thought it was a regular single that just didn't make the top 40 (or 50).

I am going to see Eric on October 3rd and I plan to ask him what (if he knows) the plan is since this song isn't doing much. On his message board some of the fanclub members were talking about an album listening party in Nashville a few weeks back and they all said the album was great. Of course they are all fans so I figured no matter what they would love it, but I wonder if he would have an event like that if there wasn't a plan to release the album at some point. As I have stated on this board before the Sinners Like Me album was my favorite album of the year and continues to be one of my favorites of all time.
I do think that releasing Two Pink Lines was a mistake. Now what I would have released instead is a tough call but TPL just seemed out of place on the album and on the radio.
I don't know what the problem is with Eric and country radio. I know he went through that crap with Rascal Flatts about staying on stage too long but I don't think that should be a problem with getting played on radio. Is he too edgy? I don't think so. He reminds me a bit of Radney Foster in that his songs kinda rock and all seem to tell a story of some kind. Does he have the best voice? No, but just flip through your country stations in your town and compare. He is just as good as most on the radio now. I just can't figure it out. His last album was raved about and from what I hear his new album is better. I just hope we get the chance to hear it.

Eric opened for them during last year's tour and stayed on stage WAY too long causing RF to have to pay fees in cities that had local unions that set up for them. He was kicked off the tour and decided to book smaller venues (bars) and play after the Flatts show was over. Like I said that shouldn't have an effect but you never know what people are thinking.

I know! Look at the songs Sugarland, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts have out right now. They don't even need to try and singers like poor Eric are struggling. It's a real shame. Yes, those artists do need to try, and I can guarantee you that they have all worked extremely hard to get where they are now. Kenny was probably in Nashville for 10+ years before he started gaining popularity. The current singles of the three artists you mentioned might not be their career bests, but they didn't get to be superstars by releasing awful song after awful song. I want Eric to succeed in this business just as much as most of the people who have posted on this thread, but I don't understand the need for some people to put down other artists and say they don't need to try. Wow. Didn't know about that. I wonder how long he was on stage? I'm sure he didn't purposley stay on stage too long. I'm sure he knew what he was doing. He stayed on stage too long multiple times, and I seem to remember he was warned about it. This wasn't a one time thing.

Wonder why he would risk his career like that? Also, I didn't mean the artists I mentioned didn't need to try. I meant that they don't need to try ANYMORE. You can deny all you want but they don't. Kenny can do no wrong at this point. I know it won't always be like this (look how Toby and Tim's careers have started to weaken). There are tons of better songs on the charts but every one of Kenny's songs is the #1 debut. I'm a huge fan of a lot of Kenny's song but I'm speaking the truth here.
