I love Re-Releases. I don't buy CDs anyway so its just new tracks to put on my iPod!!! slave4britney, you are one of my favorite posters on this board, lol. The only time I bought a re-release was Mariah's and that's only because I always buy her CDs. However, if she had re-re-released TEOM, I would have just downloaded the songs. Anyway, Forever is pretty good. I am surprised Polow produced this. Did he do "Crying Out For Me" by Mario because it has that same militant-sounding "1234!" at the beginning. This sounds more like a Tricky (the synth sounds of Umbrella) or Stargate (Rock With You by Janet) production to me.

I just cannot get into this. It is just way too POP for him. I still love him, though.

Soooooooo many people think hes selling out by how poppy this single is but I still feel the r&b vibe, and the trancey-ness to it is really popular right now.

Chris Brown is a pop singer, so I don't understand how anything could be too pop for him.

Horrible record... at least, the single version is. His vocals are crushed by the track. Until the label releases a mix where the vocals are better, I won't be adding this.

Chris Brown is a pop singer, so I don't understand how anything could be too pop for him. Oh please. His music may get heavy airplay on Pop, but his music is definitely R&B/Pop or R&B crossover. He's never released anything like this. That's why he sent "Take You Down" to Urban. His music is always able to crossover on every format, and this track sounds like some Hannah Montana ish.

I'd say his material is usually crossover, but he is primarily a Pop/R&B singer IMO. I think it's cool to see him releasing a song like this. It's a bit of a departure from his typical stuff, but it isn't too drastically different from the rest of his stuff. I think this will be a hit for him. :)

Well, I'm in the midwest (I might be in your market), and as a potential listener, I'm pleased. The song is trash.

^ Lol, I did the same thing...probably because they're both re-release singles and they're dating haha. Hannah Montana sounding or not (although I think that comparison is totally wrong) I love this. I don't see how this can't be a smash.

Safe to assume that was that poster's way of saying that I must not know what the hell I'm doing when it comes to programming... haha well it was safe to assume that the 'poster' (name's crox btw) is saying that your saying you wont play what people will want to hear because you personally don't like it is why I said how is your station even staying on the air. Chris Brown is hot right now and is what people are going to be wanting to hear. I don't see you not liking a song and wanting to cry about banning it from your little station is going to help your station whatsoever. I guess you can go put Feist on heavy rotation instead. They're really blowing up the charts. ^ THAT was my point. I didn't mean to rant at you. It's just your posts are so smug and always get under my skin.

How do you know it's what people want to hear? I assume "Finally" by Fergie is what the people wanted to hear too?

I'm sorry if you read what I wrote to mean that. What I was trying to say was that I didn't like the mix that is being serviced to radio right now because Chris' vocals are crushed by the track... the song is just okay, in my opinion. That being said, I'm not inclined to put this into rotation yet because With You is still a top five most requested song for us and we also are trying to get spins for Shawty Get Loose. As tight as we are when it comes to our currents (we do play about 200 different golds and about 100 different recurrents), it would be tricky, at best, to get Forever to schedule and still maintain artist seperation. Also, as poppy as Forever is, mine is not the station in the market that would be expected to play it first, since I have CHR/Pop competition across town.

The song is OK....but im really trying to understand why he keeps doing the bandwagon stuff. He did the T-Pain thing when it was hot (Kiss Kiss) He did the Irreplaceable thing (With You) now hes doing the Dont Stop The Music thing (Forever). What happened the dude that did his own shit (Yo)(Run It)(Say Goodbye) all the chris brown sounding stuff. Now all his music just sounds generic and done.

What happened the dude that did his own s**t (Yo)(Run It)(Say Goodbye) all the chris brown sounding stuff. Now all his music just sounds generic and done. It's still there, but after "Wall To Wall", they are playing it as safe as possible. Although, I do agree that his first album is far superior. "Winner", "Poppin", "Ya Man Ain't Me", and several other album tracks on his debut are amazing. On 'Exclusive', "You" and "Damage" (ESPECIALLY!) should've been singles. Yeah, he got hits anyway, but I don't want him to start compromising his sound for radio. It's already happening with MC. Now, Chris is doing it. I hope Beyonce doesn't do it. She usually gives me something fresh, and then everyone copies.
