See the problem with Amerie aren't the labels she's signed with. It's her as a package!!! She has terrible stage presence, and she is just another pretty face with mediocre talent. She'll just go to Def Jam,and they'll put a flop single out and throw her on the backburner and go right back to catering little precious Rihanna. So with that being said, Amerie best bet IMO is going the indie route and maybe releasing her album overseas or whatever and get into like some editorial modeling as her primary job.And just put the singing thing on the side as like a hobby instead of a career.Personally she is a good musician, but her problem is she fail when it come to deliverance. You obviously have not seen Amerie perform because she is an amazing performer cos not only does she put on a show like (Ciara,Janet,Rihanna, JlO) she can do it while actually singing Take Control live from Korea youtube.com/watch?v=v8jr8oiZUiwI Believe I Can Fly live from China youtube.com/watch?v=ExPn16048KwTalkin' Bout live Jimmy Kimmel youtube.com/watch?v=zzv-woCj7eIAll I Have live youtube.com/watch?v=4px2pUBAHiA1 thing /talkin' bout live fashion rocks youtube.com/watch?v=iWxYVgVplpoThats What U R Live from Germany youtube.com/watch?v=VPU3kzQsg9sGotta Work live Uk youtube.com/watch?v=OtCHOZvdprAShe is the FULL package so the problem is not her

Def Jam would be good for her. How? She wasnt top priority at Columbia and the only huge star they had was Beyonce. Def Jam has Mariah, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Janet, Kanye, Luda, etc. She is really gonna be a afterthought at Def Jam.

They isn't really a top dog ,R&B wise ,on interscope like there is on other labels there is Keri Hilson & Solange and both are lesser known artists than Amerie

She'll get promoted there.

Amerie isnt important enough to get promoted at Def Jam lol. She would be an afterthought. She just isnt big enough to be a priority. She should just go independant and do the music "because she loves it." At this point that would be the only reason she should even bother anymore.

They will take care of her whether she is "important" or not. If they did sign her I'm sure they have a plan for her which doesn't involve her being an afterthought.

Amerie is in her 30s .. fergie's cinderella story happens once in a lifetime.. I never seen any movies Amerie was in..but maybe she'll have more success in acting.. go be a bond-girl.. maybe she can even get the theme song and have a memorable hit after all.

8 weeks at no1 >>> a random chart position So what? Don't we all already know Beyoncé is more successful than Amerie without you stirring up s**t in here? And last time I checked, people exist on this planet who prefer Amerie to Beyoncé, ever heard of the word 'opinion'? :o

Amerie's an attractive female. Too bad she couldn't latch onto a mega force in the biz to guide her to success(i.e. Rihanna/Jay-Z, Ciara/Jazzy Pha, Ashanti/Gotti, Beyonce/Jay-Z, JLO/Puffy, Nicole S/Jimmy I). That's about the only thing I can see salvaging her career now.
And the problem w/ Mya, allegedly, is that she latched onto too many folks too easily, if you catch my drift.

^"Case of the Ex"(solo hit) "Case of the ex" and "It's all about me" both peaked higher than "1 Thing" on the hot 100.So that was a dumb comment coming from Bunifa. But I guess your name speaks for itself!
