She might as well go indie. I feel like any hopes she had of a mainstream comeback are officially gone and I don't see another major label taking her on like Hilary and betting on a new album from her.

Don't kid yourself into coming into this thread and thinking it's finally new music from her Verve deal, but the rest of West Coast Time appears to have been put online now - at least, "Jack & Jim" and "Sunset Cigarette" are the only songs I heard of being released yet. Sigh. We finally got JoJo on the way; your move, Meech!

I'm excited until I think about how much music has changed since her last album (that wasn't the country one). I really hope her music is light acoustic pop like Hotel Paper but I'll wait until I hear a single before getting too excited.

Will her new album be in the vein of her first two albums?

Just going to post this unconfirmed tracklisting from the Michelle Branch fan board in case it gets removed there: Of those, only the second track appears to be on ASCAP, but titled as "Fault Line," cowritten with Morgan Kibby (ex-M83, now White Sea) and Dan Nigro (cowriter on JR JR's "Gone," Carly Rae Jepsen's "When I Needed You," several on the last Sky Ferreira album, Kimbra's "Cameo Lover").

Where's John Shanks and will he be producing because 2003?

Ooh, this is great news! Avril and Michelle both releasing new music?! What kind of 2002 realness? Where's John Shanks and will he be producing because 2003? Apparently he's the rhythmic guitarist on tour for Bon Jovi. I think lately he's been working with Alex & Sierra.

That leftover track is a great mix of her old sound with a new twist. So glad to hear Michelle branching out.

"Walk Again" is pretty good, and it's a leftover? The album should be pretty great then!
Years ago on Twitter, I remember that Meech (can I call her that?) was the one who turned me on to Foster The People's "Pumped-Up Kicks" as it was still becoming a hit. And I kinda hear that influence in "Best You Ever". Great track, hope it becomes at least a minor hit! Looking forward to seeing her on tour.

Interesting. Same hook as Crystal Gayle's 1983 #1 hit.
