I think it's more of her marketability persay. I think that's the biggest issue of getting this girl crossover success. Unfortunately you have to have more than just a good voice to make it into the American market.

Really? Stand Up For Love? Listen? Even Bye Bye. It seems as though the general public just don't seem to be interested in huge meaningful ballads anymore.

Hmmm na i dont think that paper planes analogy is a good one. In all honesty, paper planes is kinda works in a vein that completely opposite to this one. its raw and real and honest and unique. Im sorry this song is none of those things. What it is is a catchy song that is well produced sung by someone who has a great voice. Still deserves to be a hit.

I love this song so much! Deserves to do well in the U.S.
It's rocketed into the top 10 on UK iTunes even though it is currently only #25 in overall UK airplay so it's great people are buying. :)

They need to send it for pop adds before October. They should do it the week of album release.

They should have sent this for adds earlier, if they want it to be a bigger hit than it already is. It's already losing audience according to the quick cut data; if it was getting pop airplay it would probably have a decent audience and sales boost.

In my eyes, this song has already done it's job. It's reached #3 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and was almost a top forty on the Hot 100. I still don't think this song was ever meant for CHR, and I think it's lived up to its hit potential among her core audience. Now the 2nd single IS when the label should try for the Pop crossover.

They should try sending the D.Hotwheel Fidelity Mix of this to Pop. It's a slightly uptempo, faster version that keeps the piano from the original and the beats are from Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean." And the vocals are completely unchanged.

^ Actually, there are extra adlibs in the D. Hotwheel Fidelity mix, I've noticed.

I did think about an IN but thought it was too childish lol
anyway, this is doing good in the UK.
Looks like the album is onto a good first week, not my sort of stuff though although I do like Spotlight.

Didn't she learn before that this song isn't for pop? She should try for the second single. Pocketbook is her best bet, IMO.

How could she have 'learned before'? They've never released this to pop..
I'm glad this is finally getting a pop release, but it's too late. I do think this will do well here though. "If This Isn't Love" HAS to be next, then "Pocketbook".

After listening to the whole album, I actually do think it is a good idea to send this to CHR. There's really nothing else after this besides maybe This Isn't Love that could work on CHR.

I think she should release "If This Isn't Love" :) Definitely. That song's got much more pop potential than this.

Well she's up to #36 on the Hot 100 now, and finally the sales are kicking in (up in the 30s on iTunes now while not in Top 100 last week), so next week she will jump up much higher! I think this song is great for Pop/CHR - why wouldn't it be? Also it could work at Hot AC if that is tried. In about 5 months it will probably even dent the AC chart.
