Title: Muddy Water Artist: Trace Adkins Album: TBD Impacting date: August 4 Source: MusicRow Audio: AllAccess link - Requires Windows Media Player Video: TBD Writers: Lyrics:
I was a little worried this would be some rowdy uptempo kind of song. But I really like it from the live performance. I hope it does well. We should get a studio performance soon with that close of an add date.

This probably isn't the place to ask this, but can someone tell me the difference between an add date and an impacting date? Are they the same? Thanks :)

Glad he seems to be going in the general direction of YGMT instead of 'Badonkadonk', haha.

This was sent out to radio today.
To be honest, the religious tone of this song kind of turns me off a little bit. I usually don't have a problem with songs that have a religious theme (I like "I Saw God Today"), but this one just seems to be a little different to me. Maybe it will grow on me.

theres only like 4 lines (sarcasm) of lyrics. I was thinking the same thing when I read the lyrics. Hopefully the song is better than the lyrics lead me to believe.

I just heard this tune (highest debut of the week at #32 on 'CT40') and I really like it.
I hope it goes top 10.

I like this song, but does anyone else find it a bit too repetitive?

I like this song, but does anyone else find it a bit too repetitive? Yes, I think it's too repetetive. I think it could've been written better. I mean 4 lines of lyrics is pretty pathetic. I could've written that. Still I like it better then I Got My Game On.

Look at it this way, at least he's not bragging about his alligator boots and his Armani suit, or singing about ladies who love country boys, and the country boys who love those ladies' badonkadonks. (I know I said that before, but I'll say it again.)

No, no, I like the song but it is just a bit repetitive when he says "Baptize me..." numerous times throughout the song.

This sure is climbing slow. Too much recurrent from his last song?

I'm sure that's a factor. I really don't like this song, but judging by the comments here so far, I'm in the minority.

TRACE INVITES APPRENTICE PAL TO BE IN NEW VIDEO 09/15/08 Trace recently filmed a new music video for “Muddy Water," with good friend and actor Stephen Baldwin playing the starring role. Although Baldwin has starred in dozens of big-screen films, (8 Seconds, The Usual Suspects) it’s the first music video for the award-winning actor. Trace and Baldwin met while appearing on NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” and have remained in touch ever since. Trace says it was nice to have a “pro” on the set. Trey Fanjoy directed and approached the video as a short-film, using cinematic imagery and live sound to capture the emotional story. The video will make its debut on CMT and GAC soon

The video should be interesting. I was wondering if anybody from Apprentice would ever be in one of Trace's videos.

Trace covered Jamey Johnson's "In Color" on his album! :O
it is like a thousand times better than Jamey's version (which i despise). Trace puts emotion into the song and makes it actually sound good! i havent bought the album yet, but i am about to off iTunes. i heard a few tracks on SIRIUS yesterday and they sounded good.

Im really impressed with this albumas a whole from Trace though. I cant remember the last time Ive liked almost an entire disc from him. Probabily somewhere around "More". After the first few listens, theres only a few songs I'm not crazy about and a good half that I LOVE. I wish he had stayed on this path to begin with. To me , his voice just begs to sing stuff closer to the traditional side of country.

oh i didnt realize it was an iTunes bonus track, i figured it was on the original tracklisting. well its amazing and it makes me like the song.
i also love "Sweet", "Better Than I Thought It'd Be", "Let's Do That Again", "All I Ask For Anymore" and the 2 best on the album "Happy To Be Here" and the amazing "I Can't Outrun You"
the latter 2 MUST be singles. and i also see "Sweet" being a single.

HDD first-week sales prediction:
... Capitol Nashville’s Trace Adkins appears headed for the 45-50k area for his new album, X.
