When was this originally released? After "Perfect Time Of Day"?
I don't remember hearing it at all before "Collide" came out.
I like the idea of a re-release for this though. I think it's the strongest Howie Day track I've heard. It won't do anything on Pop, but I'm not sure any Howie Day song could. Seemed like "Collide" was such a fluke. Should be a decent hit for Hot AC.

I just heard this on the radio for the first time, and it sounds MUCH better on radio than I thought it would. Having heard this on the album for almost two years, I could never see this as a radio song. For some reason, the chorus sounded different and catchier on the radio. I think the station sped it up.

So Howie is at #44 with a bullet at +45. I'm not sure if this song has a video, but I think it would help some. This song is really good, but I can't see his promotion team really trying to push it that much considering he is getting ready for a new album in Spring '06. I think this song has the potential to go to Top 20 but we'll have to wait and see. It took a while for Collide to pick up and hopefully this will do the same. Only Rihanna will jump over him this week, and he has a possibility of jumping ahead of 3 Doors Down, Santana, and Ludacris, so if any songs are going recurrent 20-40, Howie could find himself with his second Top 40 hit. I'll never understand why Perfect Time of Day wasn't re-released. Oh well, let's root for this one to breakthrough.
Another note, this has broken into the Hot AC Top 20, so that could push some stations on POP into wanting to try it out more. We'll see...

Jeez.. how many versions does this song have?
There's an original, an acoustic version, a recent album remix, and now I just heard two different radio edits on two different stations.

I think I like this better than "Collide" and it is much more suited for Pop.
45 46 HOWIE DAY She Says 775 677 98
As of now the only real competition behind him are the new songs from Shakira, Kayne West, and Madonna. I think it will at least make the top 40, but probably only peaking in the 30's, maybe a "This Is How A Heartbreak" type run.

This song sounds more "pop" friendly than Collide IMO. Much better hook. I like it.

This should break into the Top 40 this week with some songs headed to recurrent. This song will have a difficult run in the 30's, but with a steady\gaining bullet, this could do damage during the holiday season. I really hope this picks up, because it is a great song. However, I don't see them putting a video out for it.

What happened to this song? It's still bubbling under around 55-60 for the past month, and I'm pretty sure it peaked around #37 in November. Does anyone think a later adds date would have helped? This song still has a very healthy bullet and peaking at #7 on Hot AC....what happened?

I've heard about 4 versions of it so far. My favorite version is the one used for the video. The video is awesome too! The ending is surprising, haha.

I think some of the bad publicity ended this songs chart run early. But I might be wrong. It did peak around Xmas time right? Alot of songs get lost in the shuffle during that time of year. I did however expect this song to outpeak "Collide" :(

It didn't seem to hurt him too much on Hot AC, he was the greatest gainer through most of the holiday break. I'm not surprised this didn't do better on Pop, I'm actually pretty impressed that it has lasted as long as it has. It was so weird, the other day I heard "Perfect Time Of Day" and I completely forgot that that was Howie Day, I even charted that song! For some reason I was thinking "Collide" was Howie Day's first song I ever knew.

I just wish "Brace Yourself" would've gotten a chance to be released. I prefer that over everything except "She Says"

^^ I agree... it had probably little or no effect except for those of us that have personal charts, where his song made an unusual 18-17-14-24-OFF on my top 50...

The bullets are all wonky because of the Cumulus stations getting added back, so it only looks like there's a push. Just to be clear, the chart is only back to normal for now because Cumulus stations were still on the panel one week ago today. But beginning tomorrow, this won't be the case, and bullets will be temporarily inflated. In other words... Fri., Jan. 27 through Wed., Feb. 1: Lower bulletsThu., Feb. 2: Normal bulletsFri., Feb. 3 through Wed., Feb. 8: Higher bulletsBeginning Thu., Feb. 9: Back to normal bullets--DanG
