Ha! I win! The mystery ad in Country Air Check was a Lyric Street ad. For Sarah Buxton's new single "Space." www.myspace.com/sarahbuxtonI like it, but dang I sure was excited for Trent Tomlinson or SHeDAISY... But really, I hope this is standout enough to catch on at radio.

I hope it's enough to finally get a cd out of her. She has tremendous talent.

The odds are stacked against her after her previous singles struggled to climb the charts, and this one does not seem like a surefire smash.
Her raspy vocals are identifiable to everyone on this board and anyone who heard either of her first two releases, but that is NOT a large majority of the country music public, so I can't see people hearing it and being overly excited for new music from her.
The song itself is lacking that "it" factor that similar acoustic ballads such as her version of "Stupid Boy" has and I personally think that this song is lyrically weak. The chorus is built up to be much more than it is, and I think that leaves the listener disappointed when it ends.
I will be surprised if this makes the Top 40. "Love Is A Trip!" probably would have been a much better choice, but I didn't expect that to be released with all the time off she had to come up with new material. I have to say I am mightily disappointed in this song.

I think this is quite a good song....in fact, too good for radio, which is why it won't get any airplay.

This is decent, but I would MUCH rather have a new single from SHeDAISY or Trent Tomlinson. The song itself is lacking that "it" factor that similar acoustic ballads such as her version of "Stupid Boy" has and I personally think that this song is lyrically weak. The chorus is built up to be much more than it is, and I think that leaves the listener disappointed when it ends. That's pretty much what I thought. I was waiting for something clever and it was kind of a letdown.

This is a long shot, but I know a while back an artist named Bailey had a song with this title. Not it?

Sarah is so dang cute I want her to make it... but this song really doesn't do anything for me. As a matter of a fact, it's just kinda "blah".

why does this song cut off in the middle of the song? She doesn't have the full song up as of last time I checked (sorry, forgot to mention it was only a clip).

This is now at radio, and it's "ready for immediate airplay." Sounds like another Keith Urban hit to me. lol My thoughts exactly. I can easily hear Keith singing this. I really like how there's a half second or so of silence at the beginning of the chorus after she sings "And now you want space." Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I could see this catching on.

SARAH BUXTON DELIVERS NEW SINGLE, “SPACE,” TO COUNTRY RADIO
Nashville, TN- After having one of her songs recorded by Keith Urban and seeing it nominated for CMA Song of the Year and later winning Urban a Grammy for Best Male Country Vocal Performance, receiving a nomination for ACM Top New Female Vocalist and singing alongside Dierks Bentley on the Today Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live, Sarah Buxton returns to the country airwaves with her newest single, “Space.” The song is available for digital download today today via PlayMPE.
Written by Buxton with Lari White and Chuck Cannon, “Space” explores the response after a woman hears her partner say that he needs space in their relationship.
Buxton also produced the track, a rarity for a new artist and especially rare among female performers. “I wanted the song to have a raw intimacy to it, like you’re hearing a private conversation at a really emotional moment between a woman and her man,” says Buxton. “We’ve all heard someone say ‘I need some space.’ I wanted the song to show the hurt you feel when someone says that, but I wanted the reaction of the woman to show strength and not just pain. It could have been an insecure, feeling sorry for myself ballad but it turned into a self-empowering anthem. ”
USA Today Music Editor Ken Barnes declares Sarah Buxton “one of the most immediately arresting voices I’ve heard in a while.” Her digital EP Almost My Record includes fan favorites “Innocence,” “That Kind Of Day” and “Stupid Boy” along with “American Daughters” and “Love Is A Trip.” Buxton co-wrote four of the five tracks on the project.

No wonder I like it so much.......Lari White had a hand in writing it. Also, nice to see that she's the solo producer on the song as well.

When is this song available for digital download?

probably never. Lyric Street typically does not release a single to iTunes, they wait until the album comes out.

I LOVE this song and with it getting adds like crazy I'm hoping that means that the label is really behind it and going to help promote it.

I actually heard this on my radio station last night. I almost fainted while driving I was so shocked to hear it. I hope more stations pick this up. It's awesome!

From what I have seen alot of stations have it on their playlists, it's just a matter of them being smart enough to play it.
