If this is true then I honestly think Oral Fixation Vol. 2 is being rereleased. Not that many people know that it's out anyways, and it could possibly be why her next single hasn't been announced yet. I think her record label and management are kind of lost right now with "Don't Bother" flopping, while the rest of the album is filled with similiar pop/rock songs... just not as radio friendly. They know fun pop, latin influenced songs work for her so maybe they're recording something completely new. It would be a bold move, but they clearly don't know where to go next, singles wise (the whole album is up for review on Promosquad). I too have been thinking that they'd want to re-release the album although like MusicJunkie said it would ruin its credibility and I know Shakira would approve of the idea. I was actually thinking they'd rerelease it adding tracks from FO even though it would totally destroy the artistry of the albums.

I don't think this is the single.......
A re-release is pointless. People don't care now and they sure as hell won't care about three new songs.

Someone on a Shakira forum asked the label about the reason why she isn't going to Helsinki, and they answered she was recording a new song that will also be her new single.

We now know what the new song is: www.mirror.co.uk/3am/tm_objectid=16...-name_page.htmlORAL FIXATION VOL. IIHER album Oral Fixation Vol. II is out any day now, but Shakira is already back in the studio. The Colombian singer said: "I'm putting the finishing touches to a new song with the Fugees."Her new single, Don't Bother, from the album is out on January 27. She said: "It's about being dumped... We've all been there." We find that very hard to believe, Shak love

The second single HAS NOT been decided on yet. On the ShakiraRules forum, Denran gave a link to Brendan Buckley`s official site. So I thought: why not send a quick e-mail and ask? There`s no harm in that. So I did, and this is what Brendan told me:
So the second single should be out soon, and so far they are still narrowing it down. :)
And for those who don`t know: Brendan is Shakira`s drummer & friend.

For a limited time, Verizon Wireless is offering V CAST Music customers the option of downloading five songs for free from a variety of artists. The tracks include: The Fugees, "Take It Easy" from their upcoming album Shakira, "Animal City" from the album Oral Fixation Vol. 2 Shakira, "Las de la Intuicion" from the album Fijacion Oral Vol. 1 Yellowcard, "Lights and Sounds (Live)" from the V CAST Music exclusive EP What Happens in Vegas… OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark), "If You Leave" from the album The OMD Singles www.slashphone.com/70/3462.htmlThe verizon promotion may not have anything to do with the new singles from both albums, because we know that Dia de Enero is the third single off OF1 unless they changed their mind or LDLI is already the fourth single. By the way this is the third time in less than a day that I see The Fugees name next to Shakira. I guess Sony is really planning some kind of synergy.

Shakira was in the UK this week to tape CDUK and TOTP. At the show some fans got to talk to Shakira. They asked her about the 2nd single. It seems like it will be the new song with Wyclef. --- www.shakirafanz.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14315&st=495#After the rehearsal, Shakira went off for a couple of minutes as me and Kevin tried to get our breath back. She performed don’t bother 3 more times (I think!) and kept giving us little moments – singing to us, winking at us, blowing us kisses. You could see how happy she was that some big fans had turned up to see her! Before one of the performances, I asked her what the new single was going to be. She said she’s working on something new with ‘Clef, and that we were gonna love it! She asked me what I thought should be released. I said Timor, and told her how massive a hit it would be! She then said “Another option”, so I said hey you. She seemed pretty impressed with our suggestion tactics. Shakira recorded a few links for CD:UK, before leaving. ---

Looks like she doesn't want Timor to be released!

"Timor," great a song though it might be, would be a terrible single choice. It's not remotely friendly and seems to be there only for her hardcore fans.

Wow, it's great that she's working on a new song because I can't see anything else on this album becoming a hit. Hopefully this new song will be a SMASH.

Posted on Sun, Jan. 29, 2006 Hip hop and konpa Haitian-born hip hop artist Wyclef Jean, and Sweet Micky -- the Haitian konpa music king whom Jean declared an MVP on his Masquerade album -- usually runs in the tens of thousands. Friday night, several hundred Haitian-American professionals got to experience the jam session for free. Jean, who was in Miami working with Latin music sensation Shakira on a reggaeton-inspired single, joined Sweet Micky on stage in a ballroom at the James L. Knight Center. The konpa artist was headlining a reception to kick off a three-day conference by the Haitian-American Leadership Organization, a newly formed group hoping to promote a different kind of image of Haitians by tapping Haitian-American professionals to become more involved in their community. ''This is important with what we are trying to do with the next phase of Haiti,'' Jean told The Miami Herald. He is becoming increasingly involved with the issues affecting his troubled Caribbean homeland. Wearing a black T-shirt declaring ''We are all Refugees,'' the star of one of the biggest-selling hip-hop acts ever, the Fugees, came to the reception at the invitation of Sweet Micky, who donated his talent to the affair. Before his arrival he was at North Miami's Hit Factory recording studio with Shakira and at Little Haiti's Sant La Neighborhood Center, where he spent the afternoon hanging out with executive director Gepsie Metellus. ''Micky is my political advisor, and he tells me what to say . . . so there will be no discussions of [former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand] Aristide on the podium tonight,'' Jean told the crowd, to the sound of laughter. Then addressing the crowd in Haitian-Creole, he said, ``If we want to advance [as Haitians] we need to have HALO. . . . If they want the Haitian vote, we are the ones they are going to have to come to.'' During the evening, Jean posed for photos, signed autographs and showed off his best konpa moves as Micky worked the crowd into a frenzy. Jean even showed an admiring group of youngsters his latest flips and hip hop moves before taking the guitar and microphone to belt out Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry, and 911, the duet he made with soul singer Mary J. Blige. -- JACQUELINE CHARLES www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/living/people/13736397.htm

The Reggaeton thing makes it sounds like they're trying to create an English "La Tortura," which is probably a good idea, IMO.
