Mary J. Blige is finally #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I never would've thought Natasha Bedingfield would hit top 5. And she still has an insane bullet.
Glad to see Kelly's bullet going back up.
Saving Jane a +281 bullet? NO FRICKIN' WAY!!!
Boo at Aly & AJ's bullet! They deserve top 40!

The real question is what's going to be #1 next week??? Until 2 days ago, it looked like Mary J. Blige was a cinch for next weeks number 1... but my have things changed! Title 3/14 3/13 3/12 3/11 3/10 3/09 Check On It 7627 7707 7752 7795 7889 7992 So Sick 7625 7729 7821 7876 7938 8001 Be Without You 7491 7461 7447 7379 7317 7247 Unwritten 7185 7086 7024 6964 6888 6801 Deficit 306 375 423 415 429 436
As you can see, the current #1 and #2 are fading fast, losing 125 and 147 spins respectively the past 2 days... they should lose spins at a faster rate the next 5 days... both of these should be in the 7300-7400 spin range when Sunday night comes... Mary J. should take over the #1 spot with the 3/16 update... Natasha's picked up 117 spins on Mary J. the past two days... If she continues to pick up spins on Mary J. over the next 5 days at this same rate (58.5/day), she'll fall 15 spins short of beating Mary J. out for #1 next week... However, if she continues to gain 69 spins a day on her like today, well that would be 345 over 5 days and "Unwritten" would end up 39 spins ahead... and yes NUMBER 1 with about 7750 spins!!! John...didn't work out that way :( But I'll take a #2 for Natasha :) Oh....and OMG! The new and actives will all be between 61-70...I've never seen that before!

#56 SWITCHFOOT We Are One Tonight 398 436 -38, this is crap! This song deserved at least top 40!
On the other hand.... #65 ANNA NALICK Breathe (2AM) 252 210 +42, this is crazy, this song is a year old! Yay for Anna! Boo for Pop radio, you should've sent this top 20 last summer!
Jeez, could the chart possibly get any more boring? The only action is in the top 10. I have never seen such lack of movement below #35. I'm confused as to what is causing this, is it the above-average bullets in the top 10, or is there just too many recurrent spins?

i think it's that there's no clear genre that everyone is into right now. it's all over the park and pd's dont really kno what to do. like in recent times there's been crunk and reggaeton movments, but right now theres no real rush of the same genre in the depths of the chart.

I though only bulleted songs are on New and Active No, for a song to be N&A, it must be on at least 10% of the reporting panel and either (a) have a bullet and/or (b) receive at least one add in the last week.

Well, right now there seems to be some really "funny" stuff happening all over on the CHR pop chart... 3 songs that were TOTALLY dead had some new life this week... though 2 of them seem to be falling back now with my daily spins update... I expect to see this kind of stuff on the Country chart, but here at Pop, I don't... I'm not giving up on Natasha yet... this just got added to KIIS and some of the Urban leaning stations that added BWY early are due to start dropping it's spins soon if they haven't already...

I know this theory of mine will be shot down in a heartbeat, but I do think a little ageism has something to do with it in the USA, however she was still going strong till 2003. The whole speaking out against the war came and a huge commercial backlash, it was not popular to speak against the war especially then, everything after 9/11 made everyone overly patriotic and to alot of people being patriotic meant not speaking out, also doesnt help she lives in England.
But my point is as far as radio, well Clear Channel dominates and its very widely known they have conservative ties and well I do think there is a silent blackballing to some degree with Madonna. I think the public has softened, and that is why we are seeing much better sales albums sales even with limited radio, but alot of her songs since 2003 are not even getting really a chance. I even heard Bill Mahr say on his show things get hard for a artist if they say something Clear Channel doesnt like.

I don't buy it. Shouldn't Kanye West have been blackballed if that were the case? It certainly didn't hurt Gold Digger any. It's the perception that Madonna is too old/over (wrong IMO but I'm not a PD) that hurts her most on Pop.

Because Of You will go recurrent. So did "Luxurious". Not that it affects the top 50 at all. But still...
