Tony! Toni! Toné! - If I Had No Loot on Richmond's Q94.5 last Friday.
I then heard it again the very same day on XM 90's on 9. I don't think I've heard that song in years .

I heard April Wine's 1981 hit "Just Between You & Me" on Jack FM yesterday. I'd occasionally hear that on WEFM in Michigan City many years ago. But I haven't listened to that station very much lately, since it seems that half the time, they're broadcasting ball games.

Genesis "Man on the Corner" a few minutes ago.
I had to look this one up since none of the titles listed on chartboy's site for Phil or Genesis (the ones I haven't heard, anyway) seemed to fit any of the lyrics to the song. Turns out this isn't even listed at all.
Chart stats?

This song never charted on R&R. On Billboard, it peaked at number 40 for a pair of weeks in May, 1982. That's too bad, because it's among one of their best. WLS gave this song moderate airplay around that time.
I also heard this song this year, on Jack FM, plus about ten years ago on WEFM in Michigan City. They play many obscure songs, but I don't listen to the station very much because it seems that everytime I turn it on, they're airing a high school ball game.

KUMU plays alot of Jasmine Trias such as "Flying Home" although that's not too old yet.
On Da Beat FM 93.9 in Kona I heard "Every Little Thing I Do" by Soul For Real.

About an hour ago, I heard "I Don't Care Anymore" by Phil Collins on Joe FM. It was the follow-up to 1983's "You Can't Hurry Love", but only hit #39 on the Billboard chart for three weeks (and obviously missed the R&R chart).

I heard two obscure songs in a row the other day on Michigan City's WEFM - "Sunset Grill" by Don Henley and "If There Was Any Other Way" by Celine Dion, her second hit, which only peaked at 28 on the CHR chart, but I believe was a Top Ten AC hit. I heard the song a lot on AC radio back in the summer of 1991, but now, all we ever hear from her is "The Power Of Love" and "Because You Loved Me".

I heard two obscure songs in a row the other day on Michigan City's WEFM - "Sunset Grill" by Don Henley... I hear that one infrequently (usually once every 1 & 1/2 to 2 weeks) on Joe. Actually heard it yesterday, in fact.
Although...they play both "The Last Worthless Evening" and "The Heart of the Matter" A LOT more than "Sunset Grill", and both peaked lower than Grill (on the R&R chart, anyway). I don't get why they do that, but whatever.

Not sure how obscure this is, but I remember Z100 and KTU in NYC both playing Ricky Martin's "Maria" in rotation, very lightly, in mid-late 1997/early 1998. Two years later, after "Livin' La Vida Loca" & "Cup of Life" had both been big hits, they broke it out again more heavily.
Also, what's the deal with "Like You" by Daddy Yankee? Z100 has been playing it like mad for months. But, unlike "Gasolina", I'm getting the impression that this song was not a national hit if it even was an official single--no video.

I heard "Time And Tide" by Basia on WEFM last Wednesday (and this past weekend, I heard another obscure song by her, "This Is Love" at Old Country Buffet, but that belongs in another thread)

Can You Feel It Now? by Tremolo.
I've heard this twice on my Hot AC station in the past two days. I looked on Mediabase and it has only gotten one spin... Does anyone know anything about this song?
If this doesn't start picking up some airplay soon, this would easily be the most obscure song I've ever heard on radio...

A week or two ago, I saw the video to "This Time I Know It's For Real" by Donna Summer on VH1 Classic. That was the first time I heard it anywhere in years. On a side note, that had to be one of the worst music videos ever made. It's like the directors taped three scenes and overlapped them with those hokey dancers doing the same stupid routine. But that's another topic for another day.

Mix 100.7 is taking "Whatever Weekends" to the entire month of October, and yesterday I heard "My Girl" by Suave. I hadn't heard it since my freshman year of high school, when the song was active!

Whoa... I didn't think any station would have that in their music library. Guess I'll have to listen to Mix more this month (although it'd be nice if they'd cut back on their overplayed "currents", sucks having to hear Los Lonely Boys and John Mayer for the millionth time before an "oh wow" moment). ETA: Well, they don't seem to be playing as many currents as they did on their "Whatever Weekends", so that's a good thing... and they just played Dino's "I Like It". :)

I heard "Turn Up The Radio" by Autograph on Jack FM this past weekend. Only the lyrics in the chorus were different. The first two lines in the chorus were the same and the last two lines went:
Turn up the tape machine I gotta feel it if you know what I mean.
I also heard that version on U93's 80s and Beyond Lunchtime Request show, so it can't be something exclusively run by Jack FM.

I've been listening to WEFM a lot lately, especially during the day, when they're not broadcasting a game. Anyway, I heard several obscure songs on there in the past few days. This morning, for instance, I heard "I Just Want To Hang Around You" by George Benson. Yes, I know it was a Top Ten AC hit back in the spring of 1985, but how many stations play it anymore?
I also heard "If That's Love" by Laura Pausini, from early 2003. Did that song chart anywhere? Sounded like an AC hit, but I don't ever remember hearing it on AT20, so if it did chart, it was definitely in the lower reaches of the chart.
I also heard "Flying Without Wings" by Ruben Studdard. I think that song peaked in the Top 20. At first, I thought it was "I'm Yours" by Quincy Jones featuring Siedah Garrett and El DeBarge, since those two songs sound alike and I always get them confused, but when he mentioned the title, I realized I was thinking of the wrong song.

Last night, I heard Stevie B's "Love & Emotion" on WTIC's flashback weekend. When was the last time that guy got any airplay?

Now playing on Joe FM: Ozzy Osbourne, "Mama, I'm Coming Home".
I hear that a lot on Jack FM and the classic rock station WSTZ. A couple of weeks ago, I heard "Oasis" by Roberta Flack on the urban AC station WKXI-FM. I hadn't heard that one in a long time. On Thursday night, I was listening to a live stream of KVUU Colorado Springs and they played "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the Buggles.

Right now, Jack FM is playing "My Hometown" by Bruce Springsteen. You don't hear that one everyday.

Last night, I heard Stevie B's "Love & Emotion" on WTIC's flashback weekend. When was the last time that guy got any airplay? About three times a day, every day, on 103.5 WKTU, NYC. I'd probably have a massive heart attack if I didn't hear "I Wanna Be The One" and "Spring Love" at least twice per week.

Today, I was driving in north Mississippi and heard "Conviction Of the Heart" by Kenny Loggins and seconds later, while flipping to an urban station, I heard "Let Go" by Sharon Bryant.

On my way to work this morning, I heard "Wonderful" by Adam Ant. I haven't heard that song on the radio since U93 counted down their Top 93 songs of 1995. The song was around #88.
I think that song would have done a lot better had they released it in 1983 or so, since it sounds more representative of the music from that year. It sounded out of place in 1995.

Jack FM yesterday played "Let's Get Rocked" from Def Leppard. They've also been playing "Poison" from Alice Cooper lately, too.
