This sounded (the groove) so much like The Mary Jane Girls "All Night Long". It seems that a lot of artists jumped on that bandwagon. Example : Monifah "I Miss You (Come Back Home) (LP Mix)"

This is one of my favorite tracks from the '90's. Amel Larrieux has consistently made great music.

I'm not really an R&B kinda person but this song is great. WKTU played this a lot back then even though the station at that time was a dance station but it blended with other songs nicely back in 1996.

Flawless. Why can't urban radio embrace songs that sound like this these days?

My favorite is the remix that samples "What I Am."

The ULTIMATE '90s JAM! #5 Peak on the Hot 100 in 1995Bryce Wilson before Hair Show (even though he had numerous writing/productions credits in between) and Beauty Shop and Amel Larrieux before For Real brought her back to the R&B Charts. Put me on a desert island with this and Hello It's Me and I would be good for life.

One of my favorite r&B songs ever. It's just so perfect. The Classic House Mixes were great as well.
My favorite part is:
Sweetheart, now it's time I let you know I don't wanna rush; we should take it slow But I can love you can you help me grow? Give me a new beginning (and I'll give you a happy ending)
I also love the end where she sings fading out "tell me if you want to i can make it good for you I promise that I'll be true I really really want to"--they emphasize this part of the song on the Classic House Mix.

I'm not really an R&B kinda person but this song is great. WKTU played this a lot back then even though the station at that time was a dance station but it blended with other songs nicely back in 1996. Power 106 LA played this quite often in 1995-96. Ironically Power was the hip hop station but was still playing dance along with Hip Hop & R&B at that time.

This song was played a lot on WGCI, B96, and defunct 106 Jamz in my market. One of my all-time favorite 90s R&B songs.

This song was played a lot on WGCI, B96, and defunct 106 Jamz in my market. One of my all-time favorite 90s R&B songs. I’m listening to this song right now. The defunct 92.3 The Beat, Rhythm 102.3 KJLH and Power 106 in Los Angeles played this a lot in during the 90’s.
