Not my favorite from him. It's just really generic rap. Steal an old school beat, steal the hook as well, and throw some rap on it.

One of my favorites from him. A great song. I love this too. The video was actually filmed in my neighborhood, two blocks from my house. I believe his mother still lives in my Brooklyn area, Clinton Hill near Bed-Stuy. That's right Biggie was raised in my area. In fact, I saw Notorious B.I.G. aka Biggie Smalls when he was alive. I could have met him, but I was too shy to introduce myself. He was standing at a street corner and talking with members of his entourage. He had on a white sports suit with black sunglasses on. There were many stretch limos at this corner that were parked. I smiled at him. He didn't look fat to me, he was just quite stocky build and quite tall. I can never forget that moment. Unfortunately, he was just gone too soon, pretty sad when you think about it.

This is a great tune. When it was out, I ignored it. But when "Big Poppa" blew up and thus, caught my attention, I wanted to hear this and didn't get the chance to until 2 years later, when he died. Then the song "mattered" again.
Surprisingly, I don't have much else I wanna add, despite how much I enjoy this song.
BTW, what does "You had a go, but not that many" mean? Anyone?

I love it. Classic Biggie and his first ever single, at least the first one that people cared about anyway. Solid lyrics and production, along with the sample usage of course. The first verse is awesome in this.

I like this better than the Mtume original "Juicy Fruit" from 1984. It's a classic, possibly my fave hip hop single, and the only rap song I know all the lyrics too.

My favorite Biggie song. I love it and it brings back a ton of memories. Hot beat from Mtume. A classic for sure.

Agreed….this was a total smash and one of my favorite rap songs of all time. I love the small pauses between the verse and the chorus…gives the listener a chance to enjoy the beats on their own without the rhymes.

the best part is when he calls a shout out 'to all the people who called the cops on me in the buildings i was hustlin' jus so i could make a few bucks to feed my daughters.' poor thing; to have to overcome such adversity...

Is it true that Total sings the hook on this song?

Great rap classic. I still remember my first time seeing this video. Who knew he's become a rap legend and what many people consider the greatest rapper of all time?

You can't go wrong with the "Juicy Fruit" sample. I like it but I think "One More Chance" was his best single from that era. Oh yeah Total sings the chorus.

OMC Stay With Me Remix > OMC Album version. "Juicy" is something I've heard far more than frequently in my lifetime. I hear the appeal but it's not exactly a cut I anticipate listening to.
