Good song, though I don't think it's been off radio since it came out

It has become a Hot AC favorite, as a '90s recurrent.
I love it! It's one song I'll probably never grow tired of because it's so lively & fun to listen to.

And fuck the cover by Rascal Flatts, it was really lifeless.

This was the first song I ever did karaokee...it was in front of a casino in Reno!!!
Fun times...
Personally I liked the follow up "Washed Away" a little more..but I still love this song.
Darn Canadians come up with the catchiest tunes....

I've always found it interesting how this is his only hit in the US. Practically all of his singles get played in Canada... 417 307 TOM COCHRANE Didn't Mean 5 3 2 0.023 410 408 TOM COCHRANE The Party's Not Over 3 3 0 0.011 ...except his newest ones.

Very good song!!! And Rascal Flatts did a nice remake... one of the few recent remakes that is decent IMHO...

loved this song. should have been a #1 hit I think "Highway" would have been #1 if it came out in the '80s, instead of 1992. Remember that '92 was a year of drastic change on the pop music scene. There were a lot fewer songs like this because grunge rock was becoming more popular. Rap and R&B were also making huge strides on the pop chart. I think "Highway" was just released in the wrong year.

#6 on the Hot 100? Better than I thought! I was thinking this got like #12. Great song though.

Heard this song often, surprisingly enough, on B96, which was during a brief period in late 1992 that they were adding a few more pop/rock hits and were trying to prove that they were more than just R&B and Dance hits (they remained on Billboard's Rhythmic/Crossover Top 40 panel nonetheless). Other stations in my market that played it were Lite FM 93.9, 100.3, 101.9 the Mix and maybe Q101 during its last months as an adult top 40/Hot AC station as they flipped to alternative that year. I liked this song despite the overplay it got back then.
