Coming from her, this sentiment does kinda come off as cute/corny. I think she said she liked this track, because it was the kind of song Annie Lennox or Madonna would do.

Her voice sounds a little bit like Taylor Dayne in parts of this song. I was thinking the same; this does sound like a song that Taylor should have gotten and could also have done well with, a sentiment helped in large part by the fact that her regular producer - Ric Wake - also helmed this. (Then again, Taylor shouldn't have taken over 2 years off after the Can't Fight Fate era wrapped, but that's another story...) While it unsurprisingly was far from an AC smash, it did top the Dance chart for two weeks. This is definitely an example that Celine could do upbeat dance and do it well - it's just that she made such an art out of her epic ballads that songs like this seem kind of alien by comparison (and thus, they didn't fare as well). That didn't happen with "That's the Way it Is" likely because despite that song being uptempo, it also wasn't too far out of her established comfort zone.

One of my fave tracks from that album. So much edge and sass to it. Not something you hear a lot in Celine's songs.

Rare to hear a Celine Dion song that isn't a power ballad. This is decent actually.

Her first #1 on the Dance chart. No surprise Ric Wake produced it as he was known for doing Celine songs that didn't fit the ballad mold (Make You Happy, Declaration of Love, Treat her Like a Lady, etc...) I actually prefer this to TPOL. A gem worth re-exploring.

I love it. When she's been dissed, she won't spend much time on what might have been! :o πππ Honestly, a smash.
