Another hot 90's jam, this time from two-hit wonders Soul For Real!
This R&B boyband scored a #2 hit with this track in 1995. Very catchy!
The follow-up "Every Little Thing I Do" peaked at #17 on the Hot 100 and the third single "If You Want It" bombed out at #53 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. The lead single from their 1996 album did even worse.
The Billboard Hot 100: #2 Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks: #1 R&R CHR/Pop: #21

It was the title track from the album. I liked it then but I doubt I'd like it now if it were released today.

I like this song. I think they were proteges of Heavy D, if I'm not mistaken.

This was my least favorite song of 1995. Ugh, this is awful.

I never really got into this song hence it's peak at #35 on my personal chart. But ELTID did manage to hit the top 20. I never gave these guys much attention

I loved "Candy Rain," and "Every Little Thing I Do," they had a lot of potential to be a leading R&B boyband like Jagged Edge or something. Too bad they disappeared.
But if given the chance today, I guarantee they would feature an artist like 50 Cent, Lil' Jon, or Chingy on one of their songs in order to score a hit. LOL.

The video for this was a little corny, but I came to like this song and "Every Little Thing I Do" (you can't go wrong setting a video in a roller rink) equally. Sad those two hits were all the public let 'em have.

I loved this song. I performed my own remix of this at school and everyone jumped out of their seats and ran to stage while I was singing it.
I sung the first part of the first verse accapella then when the beat came in everyone was like WHOA! It was soo hot!

It's kind of a sad, slow song, but I love it. It was certified gold and reached number 21 on the R&R charts.

This song hit # 1 on the ARC Top 40 ( www.rockonthenet.com's chart). One of the only songs to hit # 1 there that didn't make the Top 20 of R&R- in fact, it may be the only one.

"Candyrain" was the mutherf@#$&(g JAM when it was out. I don't care how it sounds on the radio today but it was the bomb. It brings back SO many good memories of my late junior high/early high school days. You'll remember when this "Don't Take IT Personal" by Monica and "Used To Love Me" by Faith Evans was out. Oh, I miss those days.

I like it. Very bouncy and catchy and their follow up was great too. I thought Soul For Real were really talented and having Heavy D work alongside them certainly didn't hurt them one iota. They were a hell of a lot better than half the male groups out there today, such as B2K.

This was kinda average. I didn't hate it, but at the same time, I didn't fall all over myself to hear it. I did like their follow-up, "Every Little Thing You Do" a lot better.

I loved the Heavy D remix! The original was great as well, but the remix had that special element that I do not hear too often in songs. That jazzy sample from I don't know which record it was.

"Candy Rain" was Number 1 from March 11, 1995 to March 25, 1995 beating out Brandy's three week reign at at Number 1 on the R&B chart. Man so many great memories were tied to 1994, 1995 & 1996 and I was still in diapers lol.
