I was just doing some random reading.
Anyways, I stumbled across some stats for this album.
Did you know that Ace Of Base debut album entitled "THE SIGN" went DIAMOND in USA !!!!!!! :o
i knew it was huge - but I never knew this
It also went diamond in canada !!! And went diamond in france!!
that's 12 million from USA/canada/france alone
its actually listed in the guiness book of records as the biggest selling debut album for a group in history, selling an estimated 23 million.
Pretty impressive don't you think. 1993 brings back lots of memories

These days, I prefer "Living In Danger" since it didn't get overplayed.

I don't think there's one song from their debut that I didn't like and it was easily their best album. It was just classic eurodance/pop all the way, something I really miss in this day and age and wish was huge once again.

I preferred the import version of the album. It was not called The Sign. It was called Happy Nation and it had some other songs in addition to the ones on The Sign.
1 All That She Wants (3:30) 2 Don't Turn Around (3:48) 3 Young And Proud (3:56) 4 The Sign (3:08) 5 Living In Danger (3:41) 6 Voulez-Vous Danser (3:17) 7 Happy Nation (4:13) 8 Hear Me Calling (3:48) 9 Waiting For Magic (Total Remix 7") (3:50) 10 Fashion Party (4:10) 11 Wheel Of Fortune (3:52) 12 Dancer In A Daydream (3:37) 13 My Mind (Mindless Mix) (4:08) 14 All That She Wants (Banghra Version) (4:14) 15 Happy Nation (Remix) (3:45)
"Hear Me Calling", "My Mind", "Voulez-Vous Danser" and "The Sign" are my fave tracks.

Most of these songs are pretty good.

I'm currently obsessed with this album. While I think it's not that consistent as a whole, and that it sounds tragically dated at times, I love half of the songs (the singles plus "Fashion Party" and "Dancer in a Daydream").

This era was truly their best (3 pop #1s) & one of the biggest songs of all time! What are your favourites of this era?

The whole album flows really well, so it's hard to say. "Dancer in a Daydream" comes to mind.

I just started relistening to the album. Other than the singles, Living In Danger, Dancer In A Daydream and Wheel Of Fortune are all amazing

I wish I had this on CD. I'm sure I could find it used for a $1 if I looked though. I have the cassette.
My favourite is Don't Turn Around, as it was #1 on the first Casey's Top 40 I listened to. I'm also fond of Living In Danger because it reminds me of Christmas 1994. But really, it is a classic pop album. I got The Bridge for Xmas 1995 (along with Daydream) and I was SO excited. Beautiful Life is my favourite song of theirs hands down.
