While War is not my favorite band, I do think they are under-appreciated and this song is one of my favorites from the 70s. I don't hear it as much now as I did in the past. That's actually a good thing since it would prevent burn-out.

great band, but not there best song . I like Why Can't We Be Friends alot better. And I agree, they are an underrated band

I agree that it isn't the group's best song but it's a great one nonetheless. I love the way it's used in Cheech & Chong's pot pic Up In Smoke.

Pretty good song. It gets me in the mood for a nice long late night drive.
Back when I used to hear this a lot (like in different commercials and in TV shows and on the radio), I would always wonder about what this song was called and who does it. Then I found out eventually.

I love the way it's used in Cheech & Chong's pot pic Up In Smoke. heh heh, i almost wanna roll a blunt but don't remember the scene or much of this movie. My fave War song is probably Galaxy, with Cisco Kid, LA Sunshine, Slippin Into Darkness and Why Can't We Be Friends in there too, unless Spill The Wine is a War song which puts that at the top.

unless Spill The Wine is a War song which puts that at the top. Yeah, they teamed up with Eric Burdon (formerly of the Animals) for that song. It's definitely a War song.

Low Rider reached #7 and there is a promo video for the song on YouTube by the way.

I like this song but it does get overplayed at times. I recall hearing this song used as bumper music on the WGN morning news when I was younger. This song was also used as the theme song for ABC sitcom "the George Lopez" show (though I was never a fan of that show or George Lopez himself for that matter). www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMkwuz0iXQgmusic video www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsrqKE1iqqo
