This is probably my favorite Gladys Knight single. It has a very dreamy quality to it in parts, kind of like Aretha's "Daydreamin'" for me. Heartwrenching song and Gladys is just the queen of emotion. #1 Black Singles in 1973.

This is probably my favorite Gladys Knight single. It has a very dreamy quality to it in parts, kind of like Aretha's "Daydreamin'" for me. Heartwrenching song and Gladys is just the queen of emotion. #1 Black Singles in 1973. It was almost a chart topper on the pop chart as well reaching #2 in 1973. Thanks to "The Night The LIghts Went Out In Georgia" and "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round THe Old Oak Tree" being #1.

The "farewell my love...goodbye" ending gives me chills. AMAZING Agreed! The passion in her voice is chilling. This song - tied with "Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me" - is my favorite Gladys Knight & The Pips single.

CLASSIC. And a career highlight. The instrumental on this alone, so luxurious. Gladys is one of the greatest singers of all time, PERIOD, so much grit and conviction. She sounds so good on this.
