While not their biggest hit (that would be "The Flame"), this is probably Cheap Trick's best known song.
This is a true gem, one of the best pop-rock songs of all time. I think it's good enough, that if it was released today, it would still be big. It's held up that well.

I love this song... especially the parts where the Japanese fans are shouting (during the "Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'..." sections). :)

I like it. I also like the Letters To Cleo cover which was played in the credits of "10 Things I Hate About You."

A song I've heard way too much. I kinda lost interest because of it.

I think it sadly overshadows some GREAT songs by Cheap Trick. I love the song, and this is one of those songs that though it was never the biggest song, over time it has become a classic that you would swear must have been #1 at some point with all the covers and attention it receives. Surrender falls just short of this.

This one just never gets old with me... one of the oldest songs that I spike regularly... a true classic that's stood the test of time... 26 years and counting now!!!

I love this song... especially the parts where the Japanese fans are shouting (during the "Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'..." sections). :) I've always wondered what the fans were shouting. Anyone know?

I love this song! It reminds me of going to the beach all the time back in the summer of 1979. The beachhouse had a jukebox and this, along with "(You Really) Rock Me" by Nick Gilder) was a song that was played a lot. I also heard it on the radio, of course. I was surprised to see that the song only peaked at #11.

I Want You To Want Me reached #7 on Billboard and the live version of this tune rocks a lot better than the original studio

I echo that sentiment, and it amazes me how people are STILL covering this one. Power-pop at its greatest.

This song was used in the Diet Coke commercial years ago.
