I loved the whole album too plus the bonus song "Has To Be". Vocally, this is one of her best albums ever. And it was a great experimental album.

I thought it was overrated... but it was nice that they tossed her a few bones at the Grammys.

"The Power Of Goodbye" is just about my favorite Madonna song ever. I also thought "Swim" was phenomenal... This is one of only about 5 CDs that I have ever bought that can be played straight through without encountering any "filler."

This is one of my all-time favorite albums. I love "The Power of Goodbye." I wish radio stations still played it.

It's not my favorite Madonna album but I do enjoy it quite a bit.
Even though it is overrated at times, I think a lot of the parise is well desereved

I don't find it overrated, like, at all.
I've heard three Madonna albums in full, and I'd say I like this better than either Like a Prayer or Music. For one thing, I can listen to this album without wanting to skip any tracks.

Sky Fits Heaven, To Have & Not to Hold, Skin, Swim, Candy Perfume Girl, & Drowned World are song that showcase Madonna at her absolute best. The remixes from that era were her best (Sasha/BT/Calderone/Junior/etc..). Her videos were the best (Drowned World, Frozen, Power of Goodbye ... er ... except for that last video, that was a mess). Photoshoots - she looked her absolute best in the single covers where she's biting (or licking) her hair. That connection she had with Orbit is one that she should have repeated... over and over and over because one cd wasn't enough! That was her peak - interims of artistry & creativity, I don't think she'll ever top that

For some reason I thought of that Family guy moment when Brain's cousin was getting married to another guy, and they had to watch a video and it was something like: Question 1: "What is your favourite Madonna album?" Answer: "I like her eariler work" Announcer: "Wrong! The correct answer is nothing. Any answer means you are gay" That's probably not entirely correct, but it was something like that. lol
But in all seriousness, I absolutely love "Frozen" and of course "Ray Of Light". I haven't heard much of the album, but those two along with "The Power of Goodbye" are great tunes.

It's alright but it isn't the kind of album I can listen over and over again. Ray Of Light is a total SMASH though. I still jam to it every now and then.

in order to truely appreciate the goodness of this cd, you need to be a fan of Electronica/House/Chillout ... during that time Sasha & BT were THE kings of trance/house and they toned down their sound for the remixes .. junior delivered like the b**ch he is, and Calderone was hot (pre-beyonce/DC-saturation!)
i can see why hiphop/R&B/pop fans would be turned away by the sound, but to the people that actually enjoy it, it was/is pure heaven .. thats the only madonna cd i can listen to over and over again and IMO it's WAYY superior to her older pop-fluff. this actually had depth; lyrically & Muscially! (the only 2 songs i could do without is Ashanti/shanti & the title track)
now if only that b**ch would leak the songs she did with Sasha (post-ROL), i would be the happiest man alive!

Ray of Light is special to me...I just see blue, feel cool, and spiritual when I listen to it. Its my second favourite album behind "Music"
Its one of those rare albums where each song flows and from cover to cover it tells a story without any one chapter feeling disjointed from another.
For me :
1. Music 2. Ray of Light / Erotica ( for opposite reasons ) / Confessions ( sorry I cant choose for 2nd place between the 3 ) 3. American Life.
Funny were talking about the album and Power of Goodbye...
Coz I got dumped only yesterday via sms/text message! I was so tempted to respond - but then I remembered the lyric
"Theres no greater power than the Power of Goodbye "
and how true it is! Thanks Madonna!
