Now this is what I call an album; I love virtually every single song on here, bar "Songbird". I've been jamming to this for the past several months now. Might also get the recent re-release, too. "Songbird" has always been one of my favorites. I love the simplicity of it. Christine's voice is beautiful on it as well. I could talk about this album endlessly.

After 36 years this album still sounds great.. I wonder which one of today's popular albums people will be saying the same in 2049. 21

Great album, off course.
It's one of the biggest and best epic and classic albums ever!
The singles are great songs

I actually read the entire thread this time, despite posting in it previously, and some of the comments about "Don't Stop" have me puzzled.
On the surface, yes it sounds like a really cheesy upbeat song. But if you think about it in context with all of the drama flying around the band at the time and look at the lyrics of the verses, it's really a song about swallowing the difficulties of past and present and focusing on tomorrow until the drama calms down. Sort of like a grin-and-play-happy-for-the-camera kind of thing, which makes the song carry a lot more weight.

I have great memories of Fleetwood Mac. My mother had this album playing A LOT when I was little, so when I hear some of these songs I think back to my childhood. Our two favorites were Dreams and The Chain :)

I've recently gotten into this album and Fleetwood Mac in general, and I'm so glad that I took the time to check this out. It's such a brilliant album, and it's easily one of my favorite albums ever. It's near impossible to choose a favorite, but if I had to I think I would go with "Dreams". Such a timeless album by a timeless band.

I finally bought this yesterday, as Target is having their liquidation sales, and CDs and DVDs are now 40% off. The selection was pretty picked over, but this was something that was still there.
I listened to it today, and what a great album. I know and like the big hits from the album ("Dreams", "Don't Stop", "Go Your Own Way"), but I hadn't heard many of the album tracks. I agree with the consensus...what a strong album. There isn't a space wasted among the tracks. Such a good album.

Yeah, "DS" is a song I like a lot more in the context of the album (or even live) than on its own. *cries big tears at desk* "Silver Spring" came on shuffle. Ugh I have no idea why "SS" was left off the album. It's so good and fits the album.

Ugh I have no idea why "SS" was left off the album. It's so good and fits the album. If I recall correctly, he track was too long to fit on a 12" record so Stevie wrote "I Don't Wanna Know" to be a shorter song to fit everything on a single vinyl.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Rumors vinyl with Silver Springs. The 12 track CD version has the whole album though with Silver Springs as the closer just like Stevie wanted. That’s why The Dance was such a high moment for Stevie the Mac, Silver Springs finally got its due.

The Chain is brilliant. Not the hugest FM fan but this album is incredibly strong and all the singles are timeless.

Been listening to a lot of the Mac lately since Christine's death. Had heard this album before but really took it in the other night. Definitely does feel like a greatest hits album to some degree. The production sounds amazingly fresh too. It doesn't feel like an album that's almost 50 years old.
Hot take: "Oh Daddy" is the best song on it....or maybe it's "Dreams." But "Oh Daddy" isn't getting any love and that song totally reeled me in the other night.
