About to explode on pop radio! I've loved this song for so long. It's about time. This would be peaking by now if Z100 wouldn't of waited for months on end to add it.

This will most likely achieve recurrency.

This will most likely achieve recurrency. What does a song need to do in order to do this?

This will most likely achieve recurrency. What does a song need to do in order to do this? Peak within the top 20, stay in the top 50 20+ weeks, and still be in the top 40 on week 20 EDIT: Oh, and have dropped below the top 20 on week 21

Sadly this song can't chart anymore on the Billboard Hot 100 since it went recurrent two weeks ago :'(

I didn't think it had to peak in the top 20, and I thought it needed to be in the top 40 for 20+ weeks.

New Untouched?
(Except that lingered in the 50s, this lingered in the 20s)

This is stupid! This song is unpopular because due to the demand for less airtime, people are unwilling to put it on radio. Now that this song has been out for a decent amount of time and probably will not go higher than it is, this is a tragedy :( It is one of the best songs ever!

I wonder if its the custom edits that are propelling this. Radio stations love when they can get some free advertising in the middle of a song. It would have been a hit regardless, but the custom edits seem to be giving it a little extra oomph.
99.5 here does the same as Chicago's Kiss. ("They call me Kane, they call me Sarah, they call me Seacrest...that's 9-9-5, that's 9-9-5"). I assume other Clear Channel CHRs are doing similar edits.

28 23 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 2760 2531 229 15.727
Marching its way into the Top 20, and the song's on its 13th week in the Top 40.
What song achieved the slowest climb into the Top 20, in terms of number of weeks it took to get there?

What song achieved the slowest climb into the Top 20, in terms of number of weeks it took to get there? Pretty sure it was Edwin McCain's "I'll Be". I don't have its chart run handy, but I believe it took 20+ weeks to reach the top 20. www2.uta.edu/hunt/charts/emccain.htmlYou can see it spent 45 weeks on the chart despite only peaking at #9. (It was #18 year-end for 1998.) "Let It Rock" had NOTHING on "I'll Be". And this Sunday will be week #14: Taken from Mediabase Sunday final updates: 02/22/09: 47 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 515 +084 2.025 03/01/09: 43 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 626 +111 2.425 03/08/09: 41 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 779 +153 3.159 03/15/09: 39 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 941 +162 3.990 03/22/09: 37 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1073 +132 4.707 03/29/09: 36 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1259 +186 5.035 04/05/09: 34 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1445 +186 5.882 04/12/09: 33 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1550 +105 6.866 04/19/09: 34 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1696 +146 7.384 04/26/09: 31 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1790 +094 7.827 05/03/09: 29 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1983 +193 8.389 05/10/09: 28 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1892 -017 8.456 ** 05/17/09: 29 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 1962 +070 9.093 05/24/09: 28 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 2077 +115 10.024 05/31/09: 27 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 2329 +252 12.059 06/07/09: 28 THE TING TINGS That's Not My Name 2646 +317 14.536 ** The week when 5 stations were taken off the panel.

This was a quirky, moderate hit that got more mileage on CHR than I ever expected it to. Can't believe it still has a positive bullet.

This is one of those songs that would likely get recurrency even without cracking the Top 20 in this format, which we don't see that often. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that possible with 20 weeks inside the Top 40? At the very least, it's been moving up at a steady pace, and in recent weeks, the weekly bullet has actually been growing.
This song didn't even crack the Top 50 on the Billboard charts in Canada and it went recurrent this past week.
It's still interesting to me how this song became bigger than "Shut Up and Let Me Go" in the U.S. given the latter barely made a dent in the Top 40.

With RR, GYH, and YFM all likely going recurrent Sunday, this can probably reach the top 20 before going recurrent. And, yeah, I'm pretty shocked at how well this has done considering SUALMG barely cracked the top 40. I guess this goes to show you that TTT actually have a good deal of American fans. Me being one of them. I hope they try at least one more US single before calling WSN era over. Maybe We Walk?

I prefer Great DJ instead of We Walk. Wasn't We Walk the least successful single in the UK besides Fruit Machine?

I think this will be held off this week by "I Gotta Feeling", "Battlefield" and "You Belong with Me". But I still see this going Top 20. Any of these has to be the next single: "Great DJ", "We Walk" or "Be the One". :)

This will probably make the top 20 though so I don't think it'll be one of the few songs to go recurrent without making top 20.
