The first single from JT's sophomore album FutureSex/LoveSounds. Produced by and features Timbaland. It was a #1 hit on both the Hot 100 (7 weeks) and CHR/Pop (5 weeks). After this song surfaced on the radio everyone was bringing sexy back.
At first I wasn't impressed. I'm thinking WTF is this? Timbo can do better than this. I warmed up to it anyways. I liked both the song and the video. I like the song more.

I hated this the first time I heard it, but then it started to grow on me and then I loved it.
This is a true classic of the new millennium imo. Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) was talking about it when school kicked off that fall.

At first glance and listen, my initial reaction was WTF IS THIS SH*T! But after repetiton, I warmed up to this song.

^ I think that was everyone's first reaction to this song, at least everyone I know. Risk paid off very well.

I loved this one after the first listen. I knew it would be massive. It took some getting used to. The production by Timbaland is really hot. Loved the remixes. I was disappointed by the music video though. I was expecting it be a bit more sexual.

I think I'm the only person in the world that can't stand this song. I think it is plain stupid. I will never understand why it was such a huge hit.

Yeah, me too. But it's not saying much, since once the album dropped, it didn't leave my car stereo for two months.

Really didn't care much for it then, and still don't. And the video had so much potential but just ended up being a mess.

I thought this was complete garbage when I first heard it. It's decent now. However Promiscuous is the superior Timbaland track.

It took a long time for this song to grow on me, but it's one of my favorite songs of the decade. I don't think Justin will be able to top this gem.

This: was awesome. I'm actually surprised there weren't more people who hate this song, due to how drastically different and shocking it was for a pop singer to try a song with production as flat out daring as this was.

I recently got more into this. I've never liked Justin, but this is one of 3 singles from him I truly like.

Bumping this classic once again!
Looking back, it was one of the first huge hits in a while to use the 4/4 progression with a club flavoring that is so commonplace nowadays. Rihanna had SOS earlier that same year, but that was nowhere near as colossal as this.

I hated this song when I first heard it but after the third or fourth listen I thought it was hot! This peaked at #4 on my chart in 2006.

This song was trashed by Billboard when they reviewed it. In the same issue Omarion's "Entourage" was given the thumbs-up.
I'll give it up to Justin for practically making this song part of the lexicon...

The production is what is so concrete about this, even to this very day I find this song undeniably catchy. On a general level though it's about mid pack for me when it comes to the FutureSex/LoveSounds album as a whole which might as well be called Timbaland's album.

I think that it's kind of groovy. I'm not sure if there's really another word for it, but it sure is catchy. Although it was kind of ruined for me when my accounting teacher started singing it as "I'm bringing teachers back / them other teachers don't know where it's at, etc." I can't listen to the song without thinking about that crazy old bat, and it irritates the heck out of me.

Love this. Too bad the verses are catchier than the chorus.
