Well I'm pretty critical - I always said I didn't like "Never Again" and I've been pretty honest about things and I think this song is great- Yes- the lyrics are silly and not very good, the rhymes are 8th grade stuff- but the singing, melody, that is what sells it- it's really catchy- for Kelly, it's a winner.

Thanks Will and music4aw for discussing with me. I hope the album rocks. The end of this topic. You're welcome, krhazy. Please don't let anything I post every deter you from speaking your mind. I truly hope there are songs on the album that you'll enjoy. I was one of those Kelly fans who truly saw the potential of MD, but thought that every song just fell a little short. I thought MD could have benefitted from collaboration with a talented pro songwriter. It's not a point of view that many people here agree with or maybe even understand, so eventually I just let it go and started waiting for this new era. I don't mind that this first single is "cotton candy" if it gives Kelly a much-needed hit, and trust that there will be some "steak-and-potato" songs on the album. (Keeping my food metaphors consistent. ;)) |

I don't like the new single that much. It's kinda boring. It's just too safe, IMHO. I will still get the album, i have all 3, so i dont see myself stopping.
I am curious to see if the rest of this album is equally safe or what.

I am SO glad to hear about SAVE YOU!
I couldn't stop listening to the demo....I can't wait to hear Kelly doing the song!!
I am really curious to see what the album is going to sound like, the new single has me torn.......I have some of the same issues as Krhazy has pointed out......BUT at the same time, the more I am listening to LWS....the more I can't get it out of my head, and find myself humming it!
Could this just be a master plan of marketing to get a lead single that will catch the SUBG fans again, and then come out with different approach for the rest of the album?
If so, I think it is pretty effin genius....Narvel is a very good business man!

I think the new album will be great. It'll be great in a breakaway kind of way though lol. It won't be as serious or dark as My December which I find a shame because I love that album, it'll be more like P!nk. Its ok though, it'll still be great, just great in a different way. Personally I miss MD, but I love MLWSWY

I know I've already stated this many times but I love how she's going to use "Save You." I've been a fan of the original/the band that did it since forever. It's just ironic! I think Kelly will do better, but she has some work cut out for her, I love the original.

I'm actually glad HU is on the album. It's a pop gem and with Kelly's amazing vocals, it's a hit waiting to happen. I'm not sure I like the idea of it being the 2nd single (I prefer either AIEW or SY for the 2nd single) though.
