The album's leaked. Seems a lot better than Exodus so far.

I can easily say that I love this album and don't dislike a single track on the album. :)

Apple and Cinnamon sounds so good. Taking My Money Back should be a single.

The album is truly a masterpiece. Utada once again proves what a genius she is. "Dirty Desire"<333.

I can easily say that I love this album and don't dislike a single track on the album. :) Ditto. I actually like Automatic Part II! I also love Exodus, but I guess it's too experimental for some people. That album deserves some recognition.

The album is great...but the cover is so embarrassing, I won't buy this. I can't. It's ridiculous...

The album sounds pretty good. I was a bit surprised. I liked Exodus. I might get this. but the cover is so embarrassing, I won't buy this. I can't. It's ridiculous... It's just a picture. You can turn the cover over so you don't have to look a it.

The cover is stupid I agree, and with being able to download everything for free these days album artwork is really important.

omg whoops I thought this was the BoA thread! I love Utadas cover! Woah! Racist! :DJust kidding...Someone on the ANTM board thinks I'm racist...long ironic story...It's too funny. I think that BoA's cover is better than this one...I meant the font and her expression...At least BoA's is so plain, its practically not a cover anyway... Plus my sister and her boyfriend went to Target, so I gave her my giftcard to get it for me.

The album flopped in japan. It sold only 77,000 copies. Sad:( Maybe it's because 99% of Japan's population doesn't speak English? LOL. No big surprise.

the album is pretty solid my favorites are "Come Back To Me" "Taking My Money Back" "Automatic Pt. II" "On & On" ^ i think these should be the singles but not in that order not my favs but noteworthy "Poppin" (would be single worthy if it weren't for the talking parts, they get annoying after a while) "Me Muero" (single worthy but i hope it isn't because it's just a generic stargate production w/ latin elements thrown in) the rest are OK, i like every song on the album the only song i sort of don't care for is "This One (Crying Like A Child)" nice lyrics an melody but IMO it kind of drags on but it seems like a grower so maybe I'll end up loving it. The singles should go like this "Come Back To Me" "Automatic Pt. II" "On & On" "Taking My Money Back"

I love On&On. Utada is a mess in that song. Automatic Part 2 is so catchy. Me Muero is okay, but "Irreplacable".

Nice to see her discuss each track and it's meaning to her.

Billboard review:
This Is the One UTADA Release Date: no month , Marc Producer(s): not listed Genre: POP Label/Catalog Number: Island
Hikaru Utada has been the reigning pop princess in Japan since she was 15. With her follow-up to 2004's "Exodus," the 26-year-old is ready to take on the United States. Her new Island album, "This Is the One," was released digitally March 24 with a physical release set for May 12. It features production from Stargate (Ne-Yo, Rihanna) and Tricky Stewart (Britney Spears, Mariah Carey) that combines Utada's Japanese pop roots with a hip-hop twist and lyrics that were written by the singer. The songs range from unassuming and naïve tracks like "Apple and Cinnamon" ("What we had/ Was just too good to last") to assertive club anthems like "Poppin," which has her wearing "sexy stiletto pumps/tight jeans" and not much more than that. In "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence —FYI," Utada makes references to the 1983 film of the same title and infuses it with shout-outs to her hometowns of New York and Tokyo. This globally aware album ends with the Latin-inspired "Me Muero," a song about the aftermath of a breakup.—Keir Bristol
