I think this contest is not about commercial success, it's more about what this board favorite songs of the year are. So, it doesn't matter how many weeks Taylor spent at number one. Yet, if we take chart peak in consideration, it might just show that Our Song spent more weeks atop then it deserved. Eh, I don't want to start an argument, but that's just silly. You're talking about a poll of under 50 people on a random message board... that in no way is even remotely representative of the overall country listening base and in no way can show what a song "deserved" on the charts. Millions and millions of people listen to country radio every day... one random poll conducted one time of under 50 people speaks nothing to the overall feel of those listeners or artistic value of a song. This is a fun game for the board... let's not make it into something it's not. That was exactly my point. I was saying that it is just a game for the board and that chart peak shouldn't be taken into consideration as Joey2002 was surprised that a song that spent 6 weeks at number one could lose to a top 15 hit. My last sentence started with a " if" meaning that even though it's not the point of the game, that could be some sort of sign, if we were using that criteria (which we are not). I was not trying to start anything, I'm sorry.

i was just trying to compare it to an upset in college basketball, when a team who was #1 during the year for a bunch a weeks loses to a team that never made it above 15! : ) it can happen, but i was just pretty surprised...
i like taylor but i think "our song" was over-rated anyways at 6 weeks - but in taylor's defense, most of her target audience isn't voting on this board...
