I remember this was slated to be her the first single from her solo album:

I remember she complained years ago about producers trying to give her a J. Lo Jr. sound but now J. Lo's sound ain't even moving units for J. Lo so she should dash any hopes of major sales and hits quickly. That said, she doesn't have a bad voice and I wouldn't be opposed to hearing a full album from her.

She wanted her own "musical identity" and that's partially why she aligned with Ne-Yo and Compound because he had promised developing this "edgy Latin" sound for her.

I'm not a huge fan of hers but I really understood what she was saying.
I don't think Adrienne is a famewhore who only cares about being in the spotlight, I've always felt like she genuinely wanted to make music but also didn't want to release something half-baked that would define her down the road. Her career is very odd because Cheetah Girls really gave her a launching pad but also turned her into a pop star for 8 year olds, which is not the direction I think she saw her musical career going. And I don't think she necessarily meant that Playas Gon Play was some artistic masterpiece but rather that when she was 17 and got signed to be in 3LW, the sound that she loved and the sound that the label felt she could be marketed with overlapped. Flash-forward to whenever she signed with Def Jam, it sounds like they were trying to push a sound that she wasn't at all interested in and she got the ugly side of being commodified by a record label.
I'm not interested in hearing any music from her but if she wants to do it, she might as well. I've always gotten the impression that she feels she missed her shot to give it 100% by going the Disney route.

When she was at DJ, the music was all very pop urban but nothing to me was a hit. The records the Dream gave her were some of his worse. On top of that I felt like some of who they put her in with were coming out of being urban mainstream producers. B.Cox and JD commercially weren't as successful and he had multiple sessions with her so it's almost as if she was set up to fail.

I'm not going to lie, she was the Beyonce of 3LW, although Kiely tried to be.

Still a bop. Doesn't get the attention it deserves in favor of their earlier work.

A Girl Can Mack was the shxt! I still bump that album from time to time. Deadass played AGCM on the way to work on Monday. I always bump the last track cause it has those 3 songs together. 3LW was a bomb debut. The production was on point. I'll always be here for Kiely lisp.

Ironically, some of their best music was released right before they broke up or after. "Feelin' You" is my favorite single by them, and I also liked that "Do Ya" track that leaked, produced by Rich Harrison:
And this still provides a good laugh:

I can see why she doesn't like her voice. That was pretty painful to listen to.

^She's thirsty as hell. But to be completely fair, she seemed pretty tight with the family even after she stopped dating Rob all those years ago.

What year was that Kiely Williams video out???? That seemed like a "In Living Color" or "SNL" parody. What pop/nb females were big at the time. I hope for her sake she was biting someones style for the record labels sake and didn't think that was good....

That was 2010 - r&b had pretty much nosedived out of the mainstream spotlight at this point - so I don't even know who she could have been trying to bite. Maybe she thought she was going to be a modern day Adina Howard/Britney hybrid? That's the only sound/image I could even remotely think to compare her to, but Adina was on point with hers. And Spectacular was no Breathe On Me.

Looking back now, it kinda looks like she was making fun of Rihanna. Wasn't this around Rude Boy?
