I believe the only thing they really announced was tour plans for the summer, and that they're going to be working on a new album, however they didn't say that would be summer... Read what both Mark and Tom said. It's above on this page. The album is supposed to come out in 2009 but there's nothing really defined.

^Commenters on absolute punk really annoy me. It annoys me too. It's like, get over it already, okay? Yes, I understand that Blink-182 is your favorite band and developed your entire sense of musical taste and set the stage for all of your new favorite bands, but dear God give it a rest. In the grand scheme of things, Green Day and Offspring both did way more for punk in the mainstream market than Blink-182 did, and nobody shows their members this kind of wrath when they do a side-project. Oh no, but it's because Tom broke up the band, right? And if the new album ends up not being the glorious trip down high school memory lane that you want it to be, will you crucify him for that too? Will Tom forever be to blame for every single bad thing that has ever happened? Or will Mark and Travis start also being the fixtures of your anger and spite. f**k. The guy is doing what he wants to do. Learn to accept that. f**king control your behavior. You are carrying a f**king childlike grudge over a band that wrote a song about f**king a dog and another about a guy with glass bits in his dick. Give it a rest already.

I really don't think they will return with a single in 2009. I sure as hell hope so, but just doing a tour and stuff is awesome. Maybe a single in late 2009 with an album in spring 2010.

The reason people are sore is because when Tom continually talks about how they're going to be "the greatest band" and has this high ego and everything, towards angels and airwaves, and then brushes blink off like it was nothing. This is everyone's instant reaction due to the fact that Blink is supposed to be back together, they want Tom to let go of that fact, and they're worried he's still holding out for Angels and Airwaves to be "a musical revolution" or whatever. I've been following both Mark and Travis on twitter. Mark is definitely a Twitter freak, as he tweets about 20 to 30 times a day, maybe more. H0t Revolver, I'm pretty sure they'll release the album in late 2009, or really early 2010.

For one thing, Tom has said he was on a lot of meds early on in AVA's career, so a lot of what he said he was probably loaded out of his mind. But even then, I never took anything he said to be all that crazy, he was just a dude really excited about his band and his music. How would you feel if you're trying to push your new project to people and all they want to talk about is the band you used to be a part of and never let that go? And people have treated Tom like shit from the beginning, they never gave AVA a shot unless it was to have more ammo. They want him to let go of AVA? Well maybe he wants them to let go of Blink-182.

And people have treated Tom like s**t from the beginning, they never gave AVA a shot unless it was to have more ammo. They want him to let go of AVA? Well maybe he wants them to let go of Blink-182. I totally get that. I never stated my point of view on the matter, just what the mass majority of people think. I personally didn't even hear about +44 or AVA until after they had made their first albums, (At that point I wasn't as into music as I am now). I just remember reading a bunch on what Tom was saying. I do have to admit that everyone kinda made him out to be the enemy, as he was the one that broke Blink up. (And might I mention he didn't even have the balls to do it in person...he just has his manager tell Mark and Travis). And It's kinda a buildup from the past couple years that I've kinda been sore on Tom. I think he's really talented and I personally like Angels and Airwaves (Not as much as I did Blink), but I thought they were alright. +44 Was a bit better imo, however.

I enjoy AVA too but now that blink is back I can't see them as more than a bonus track to a whole blink record. The void is filled now.

I get that Fran, but that's no need for people to keep shitting on Tom. I wouldn't blame Tom if he eventually said fuck the whole reunion thing due to all the shit he keeps getting from supposed Blink fans. It just really upsets me, y'know?

I get your point, you're trying to put yourself in Tom's place. We all know he gets a lot of hate. Also, absolutepunk.net isn't a good example. As much as I like it in terms of info, 60% of people over there are just douchebags. Like, they see some news about 3OH!3 or Nickelback, and then instantly you see people talking about how much those band sucks... I bet some users over there, just talk shit about those hated bands because it's the coolest thing to do. You should know just as well as I do.

And really Jason Tate is a douchebag himself, although admittedly a lot of the time people do things to deserve his scorn. But at any rate, it's what kept me from joining their forums until recently, and I'm only there to discuss Lost and Heroes. The people in those threads seem okay.

Blink-182 and Weezer will be hitting the road together this summer, according to Buzznet.com.
Citing "an informed source," Buzznet reported that the tour is "a done deal," and that while the routing hasn't been locked up, fans can expect an announcement shortly. Blink will headline, with Weezer serving as "their main supporting act."
At press time, there was no official confirmation about the Bleezer tour. Spokespeople for both Blink-182's label and Weezer declined to confirm the Buzznet report to MTV News.

A lot of mystery around blink right now: www.pickrset.com/markhoppus/?p=563www.mtv.com/news/articles/1609983/20090424/blink_182.jhtmlTwo interviews, both with Mark: Billboard: www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/blink-182-motion-city-soundtrack-albums-1003968699.storyBlunt Magazine: i662.photobucket.com/albums/uu341/cosmicrock/Blink.jpg?t=1241178575Here is a recap of a conversation fans had with Tom this week on Modlife. -AVA in studio Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. -Blink rehearses Wednesday and Friday. -Is stoked for the blink tour and album. -New AVA movie and album to be released Christmas day for free. -Tried to drop Interscope (or whatever he’s on) but they wouldn’t let him. However they said it’s cool if he releases to for free. -The octopus is Mark’s brand name…Said he’s branding himself with the octopus. -30 new modlife bands are coming, including bands we will all really be into. -Not at liberty to discuss blink other than it is going well and they have some awesome graphics and s**t in the works. -He’s all around excited for blink, ava, and modlife. -He’s growing his hair out. -Tom Cruise is gay and send naked pics of your dad to him. -Blink rehearsals are a lot of fun and his wife is mad because he’s so busy. Yesterday, Tom stated on Modlife that there will lots of blink news this upcoming week.

-He’s growing his hair out. I wonder if that means Tom's friends are listening to Slayer. ;) Two clips from that new TV series, "All The Small Things." I saw those earlier in the week. I loved that choir rendition of "What's My Age Again?", especially the girl ad-libbing, and the reactions from a few of the adults in the room after some of the more questionable words or phrases. I hope somebody makes an mp3 out of that, but it didn't look like anyone had, when I first watched them. That "Aliens Exist" thing sucked, though.

It's hilarious, imo.

Anyone hear about the Octo drive?
I managed to get my hands on an online copy of the drive...all it contains is Mark Hoppus's remix of "America's Suitehearts" by Fall Out boy...the music video for it (Which might I add is VERY weird...full of octopuses), a picture of Mark with an Octopus, and a little video where they filmed Mark with an octopus, posing for the picture I mentioned earlier.
Kinda a dumb letdown in my opinion. Blink shouldn't associate with Fall Out Boy. They're so much better than that.

It's not that, it's that you said "they're better than that" as if you meant "they know better than to associate with that filthy dirty diseased Fall Out Boy". Or something along those lines. Which is a stupid thing to say IMO, FOB's a great band and the members are class acts, why would Blink not associate with them? That would be snide and crude.

Trust me, I'm one of the few of my friends that does. I just put Blink leagues ahead of them in my book. I phrased it wrong I guess. I'm just worried about it rubbing off on Blink's new music. That would horrify me.

In fact considering how their last album sounded and how (+44) and AVA sounded I wouldn't be surprised if Blink-182's new stuff didn't end up sounding closer to emo bands like JEW or Dashboard before FOB.

But I will be perfectly honest. While I get the impact and relevance Blink has had on the scene, I really don't understand the devotion. I guess I was never that much in love with the band to begin with. In fact they're probably my least favorite of the big pop-punk bands of the 90s. I think Fall Out Boy is far more talented both lyrically and musically, but I understand that without Blink, FOB might not have existed.
