billboard.com lemme get dat for you EDIT: The doctor is in, at the tree-shrouded Conway Studios compound in Hollywood, and he won't be out any time soon. Lukasz Gottwald -- the writer/producer better-known to the explosive-chorus-loving world as Dr. Luke -- has booked all three rooms at Conway for the entire month of September. He's told his manager to cancel all meetings, and you might have to excuse him if your call goes to voice mail. The deadline task at hand: Coming up with enough new songs for his protégée, Ke$ha, to get a deluxe repackaging of her debut album out in time for the holiday buying season. Nothing is remotely done yet, and Ke$ha is only available for a three-week stretch, so he and fellow producers Benny Blanco and Ammo are hard at work coming up with rough tracks for the singer to put her stamp on. How many songs are they planning on adding to the "Animal" reissue? "I'd like as many as eight, if possible," Gottwald says. "But I'll be happy if I got four or five great ones. And a lot depends on the next two weeks. She has a single right now, 'Take It Off,' which is doing pretty well. Last time I checked, it was No. 11 on iTunes. Normally, an artist would be stuck in a fourth-single slump by now, so that's encouraging. But who knows. Two weeks from now, research could come in and say that song won't go as far as we had anticipated, and then that'll mean we need a new song right away." www.billboard.com/#/features/dr-luke-the-billboard-cover-story-1004112877.story?page=1Also, Luke is executive producer on Britney's 7th effort

Makes me dad the great songs on Animal, like Hungover, Blind, Animal, and Dinosaur will never see the light of day as singles, probably. Although Dinosaur was never going to be a single in the first place, I guess.

They want 8 new songs for the rerelease?! Trying to be a Fame Monster?! :o I'm not complaining, and I'm esp happy that it looks like no songs we already have are what they're looking for with the rerelease. Now that Boy Like You is no longer hers, I don't care. =/

Animal will sell a million and a half records in the U.S. with this rerelease agree? I say 2 million. She sold a million without a holiday season benefit AT ALL, so I think she could DEFINITELY pull another million with the re-release considering the timing and her omniscient radio presence.

It kind of has been a GGGB for her...never saw it like that except she's a bit of a better album seller than Rihanna. I really can't wait to hear the tracks that she & Dr. Luke/Benny Blanco/Ammo come up with. It is going to be too damn good.

The word "rerelease" always scares me when I already have the original album.
If this "rerelease" is available separately as well (i.e. Usher's new one and Lady Gaga's "Fame Monster"), I'll be happy.

I don't like this re-release idea at all. 'Hungover' should still get released as a fifth single. I don't think her album sales would increase a whole lot anyways. And, seriously, 8 songs? I mean... she could try to go the GaGa route, but she doesn't have to make it that obvious.

It's kinda a stupid idea to re-release Animal as it doesn't need it at all. She has a bunch of smashes left on her album and her album is still consistently in the Top 15 all this time later. What she needs to do is finish the era properly with Hungover and/or Kiss N Tell and come out with an amazing new album next year.
Whatever, I can't complain, since I'm sure whatever she comes up with Dr. Luke is gonna be amazingggg. :)

I don't think the era wouldn't be finished properly with Hungover and/or Kiss N Tell. This era needs to be finished with Ke$ha displaying a different side of her that the public has yet to witness which is her vulnerable side. Though, I doubt that'll happen since I'm sure Dr. Luke is going to create a TiK ToK-esque song on steriods or something like that. Oh well here's to more album sales and successful singles!
