I think Lady Gaga will be nominated for Poker Face then perhaps, or is "Just Dance" eligible for pop song? I know it was nominated for dance recording this year, but next year, would the rules allow the song to be nominated in a different category, if it wasn't already submitted? thanx.
I think Pink's Sober is a very very strong song... and I definetly see it as a front runner for Pop Female Vocal. It will be between Kelly Clarkson and Pink for the pop categories next year, I think.

^just dance would only be eligible if it is a new recording, i.e a live version or something....which will not happen. Even if there was a new recording, it wouldnt have a chance for pop female. As for Pop Female - pink, and kelly are standing out currently for me as well. I Can't even think of other possible nominations off the top of my head...leona maybe? thats about it. Britney should be submitted to Dance, because she doesnt have a chance in Pop female as well dont think.

I think Pink and Kelly are the front runners too. Maybe Sober for song of the year? Idk but Funhouse needs to be nominated as Best Pop Album as should All I Ever Wanted, who would win idk.
I think Britney could win Best Dance Recording but I doubt she will get Best Female Pop Vocal or Best Pop Album. Nominations yes.

I think Beyoncé will submit some songs into the R&B categories and others into the Pop ones. I think If I Were A Boy or Halo will be nominated for Best Pop Female Vocal Performance and Single Ladies or Ego for Best R&B Female Vocal Performance.

Weren't "Single Ladies" and "If I Were A Boy" submitted last time? Yes, they were on the nomination ballot for the past Grammys. They were put on the ballot even though the songs were released after the eligibility date. However, now that both "Single Ladies" & "If I Were A Boy" were submitted for nomination contention at the past Grammy Awards makes both songs ineligible for this years awards since the two tracks were already submitted.

Anyone else think Keri is eligible for a few noms herself? The Best New Artist field this year is very weak at the moment since Lady GaGa is ineligible for a nomination here. I can definitely see Keri getting a BNA nomination to represent the R&B Field.

Haha, I'd love to see Keri nominated, but something tells me Melanie Fiona will be getting a lot of attention... I'd also like to see Live Your Life and Knock You Down going head to head in a few categories.

Maybe David Cook. But the Idol tag is a turn off. No other Artist has made an impact yet to prove their best new artist worthy but who knows I have a few in mind but there long shots.

I think The Grammys were moved up due to The 2010 Winter Games scheduled Feb. 12-28.

^ I believe that is true. The Oscars were changed to March to accomodate the Olympics, so I think the Grammys did the same thing.
I really love Keith Urban's new album, on the country side. I hope it gets some Grammy love. It is excellent.

From talk it is that the Michelle Branch/Dwight Yoakams song Long Goodbye is her first single out soon. I think it will give Carrie and Randy Travis some competion in the country collaboration. I think hers and Jessica Harps new cds will be released to late for any impact other than that. The grammy offical type seemed to be in a larger number at SXSW than before I hope some more nomination in the americana area gets looked at more than instrumental.

I dont think Lady Gaga will win Female Pop Vocal Performance or Pop Vocal Album, her only chance may be Best Dance Recording.
Best New Artist Early Predicitons: Asher Roth Erin McCarley(I Wish) Melanie Far or Keri Hilson *Unknown* *Unknown*
Best Female Pop Vocal Performance may go something like this: My Life Would Suck Without You-Kelly Clarkson Sober-P!NK Poker Face-Lady Gaga Circus-Britney Spears The Fear-Lily Allen or Beyonce-Halo Hot N Cold(if not already submitted)

why are people still even bringing up Gaga in BNA...she is not eligible,..why is it so hard to understand that she received a nomination for Just Dance already? Making her ineligible for the 2010 BNA Grammy...

^Im with you there because no new artist has made an impact other than Gaga but shes ineligible. There's been only veterans on the charts no new people yet that can take Best New Artist.

David Cook has a hurdle because of the Idol stigma for sure (no former Idol contestant other than Carrie has ever even been nominated for BNA, although she did win it). But I think Cook is making a case for a nomination. Sales aren't everything where the Grammy's are concerned, but it doesn't hurt that he has the best-selling album by a new artist this chart-year so far (Gaga is second but trails him by half a million copies since the BB year began).
There are also some stellar songs on that record - 'Permanent' and 'Lie' are both Grammy-worthy IMO. Plus he's getting a good bit of buzz as a live-performer, which helps give him legitimacy in the minds of voters. I think it may come down to timing with Cook - if he has the right song(s) hit and he's front-of-mind come voting time, I could see him scoring a nomination.

Has Love Story been submitted previously? If not I could definitely see it possibly being a front runner for a Record Of The Year nomination.

But when she performs in NAACP Awards it seems to be a Dangerously in love's performance at VH1 Divas Live

Rock Vocal by a Duo or a Group: U2 vs. Green Day...reception hasn't been as strong for U2 this time around although they are THE grammy champs for this decade. Can Green Day take the win after Vertigo beat American Idiot in this category?
