She was interviewed this morning on Fox 5 and came off surprisingly down to earth. I kind of want to check out the album now, although I wasn't a fan of the last one.

Hmm, not bad, about where I expected her to debut. I looked for this at Wal-Mart today but they didn't have it.

"Falling" was an awful choice for a single IMO. Had something better been released, she may have sold more.

Brooke Hogan’s ‘Redemption’ Album BombsSinger fails to get attention with her latest material By Elena Gorgan, Life & Style Editor 5th of August 2009, 06:48 GMT Admittedly, critics agree Brooke Hogan has the perfect pop voice, but always comes out with mediocre materials at best, because she allows whoever is behind the mixing board in the studio to do away completely with her sound. The same happened with her second album too, “The Redemption,” a release that failed to get critics singing its praise and fans to buy it, as SocialiteLife informs. “The Redemption” did not get much promotion prior to release, for rather obvious reasons: as most glossy mags and celebrity blogs point out, while Brooke is undoubtedly a celebrity, she is “not quite there” and is yet to be taken seriously for what she does. Still, the fact that it was known it would include songs written in the aftermath of the Hogan divorce, when mother Linda started dating a man younger even than Brooke herself, did help build up hype for it. Unfortunately, from what the aforementioned publication says, it just wasn’t enough to make the album move up the charts. “Brooke Hogan’s latest album, ‘The Redemption,’ debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at #144, with 3,381 copies sold. Ouch. She held an album release party at Mansion in Miami this past Friday night. A full ten days after the album debuted.” SocialiteLife writes in a recent post. Appearances at Wall-Mart to promote the album did not speak in favor of it either, other US publications point out. As fans must know, Brooke is not devoid of talent, which is also the one thing critics agree on as well. However, they say, she is too caught up in the idea of becoming the next Britney Spears that she allows herself to be handled in all directions until her music loses all personal touch and she becomes just a mere “instrument” belting out tunes. The same goes for “The Redemption” as well, an album that could have had serious potential if Brooke had taken a stand to make her own music, in the sense of having the final say in it, critics believe. “Britney [Spears]’s ‘Blackout’ is a clear sonic template for ‘Redemption,’ with Brooke happily embracing whatever role is handed her, only taking control on her vitriolic attack on her mother, delivered completely with an actual argument pasted over the bridge, and the ominous self-empowerment of the title track. Apart from this, Brooke is singing with gusto through layers of Auto-Tune, letting her producers fit her into tracks that provide the throbbing soundtrack to a very late Saturday night.” Stephen Thomas Erlewine from All Music Guide writes on StarPulse.

Hogan talks about redemptive powers of new CD, parent's divorce, being true to herselfBy Mesfin Fekadu (CP) – 1 day ago NEW YORK — Finding out that your parents have reached a settlement in their divorce isn't normally a "happy" moment for any 21-year-old. But when you're Brooke Hogan, and your parents have been going through a tabloid-worthy divorce, getting that kind of news is almost joyous. "I was relieved to hear that the divorce was finally signed, sealed and delivered," she said in a recent interview. "They weren't good together. ... So it's like OK, everything's over, everything's done, you guys don't have to hate each other anymore." Now that her superstar wrestler-dad Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, and his wife, Linda, have split, Hogan is ready to move on. While Hogan still has her VH1 reality show, "Brooke Knows Best," she's more interested in promoting her music these days. She recently released her sophomore CD, "The Redemption." AP: What's the message with the new CD? Hogan: I named it "(The) Redemption" because I've been through so much that I feel like now at this point in my life I'm really settled, I'm really happy, I love the way my life is going ... I talked about all the things I went through but it's about taking the high road, and being happy and choosing the right path. AP: Do you feel like you've established yourself as a singer? Hogan: It's hard to crossover. First, I was doing the singing, and because I was Hulk Hogan's daughter, everyone was like, "Oh, it's handed to her. Oh, she looks like a wrestler herself." I mean they were hard on me from all angles, you just couldn't win. And then I started doing the TV show to kind of have a platform and get people to know me and stuff like that. But I did the TV show to help my singing, and people think that I'm a TV star that's trying to sing now, like Heidi Montag (of MTV's "The Hills") or something. I'm like, "No. It's different." The singing is the permanent thing, the TV show's what's going to come and go. AP: Has your mother heard the "Dear Mom" song on the CD? Hogan: I believe she has. I just haven't heard anything from it so if she has I don't know. AP: What have you learned from the relationship you have with your mother? Hogan: I don't know what my mom feels toward me or where the viciousness is coming from, but I just know that when I have kids I will protect them. I would do anything for my kids and for my family. I know that. Even now for my family I would do anything for them. I think just keep my head screwed on straight and always love my children and my family and know that that's really all you have at the end of the day. AP: Now that you're 21, do you feel like you are where you want to be? Hogan: I'm more true to myself. I feel like I was kind of raised to be mechanical like, "Hi, I'm Brooke Hogan, I'm Hulk Hogan's daughter. I like cookies and sunshine." You know? I was trying to be so perfect and so cookie-cutter because everyone's like, "Aim for that Disney audience! Be perfect! Don't say anything wrong!" And it's just working out better for me just being me. On the Net: www.brookehogansmusic.com/

Brooke Hogan Dishes On Her Beef With Heidi Montag, Cassie’s Nude Pictures And Jay-ZAugust 14, 2009 by Story Gilmore Celebrities says the darndest things when promoting new projects. That’s when you start to see an abundance of nude photo leaks, sex tape rumors and the age-old radio diss. With no nude photos or sex tapes circling the internet, reality TV star and singer Brooke Hogan opted for the last option. Fired up and ready to go, Brooke unleashed a little venom during a visit to DJ Whoo Kid’s Sirius satellite radio show while promoting her latest album The Redemption. “I don’t like some people,” Brooke bluntly declared after defending the creation of a Jay-Z parody video. When asked specifically who, she quickly responded with The Hills star-turned-singer Heidi Montag-Pratt’s name. That’s 2 stars in less than 2 minutes! Has to be some sort of record. But Brooke wasn’t done just yet. While she did defend Miley Cyrus‘ risque internet photos (”I think every girl probably sends a sexy picture to her boyfriend, and the ones that she has aren’t even that bad.”), she wasn’t as kind regarding Bad Boy singer Cassie’s nude photos. “Don’t show it if it’s not right,” a disgusted looking Brooke said of Cassie’s infamous lower half picture. “It’s all stretched out.” That’s a whole lot of dissin’! If you’re not too offended by what Brooke said, you might like to know her album is in stores now.

EXCLUSIVE: Brooke Hogan Suffers Stress AttackWednesday, August 19, 2009 By Hollie McKay Exclusive: Brooke Hogan Suffers Stress Attack, Hulk Rushes to Be By Her SideBrooke Hogan generally comes across as pretty calm and collected as she cruises around in her VH1 show "Brooke Knows Best", but beneath the surface she seems to be suffering some serious medical problems. The 21-year-old reality starlet/songstress was scheduled to perform alongside Sean Kingston, LMFAO & rising pop princess Kristine Elezaj at PARTY 105’s MEGA JAM Concert in New York this past Saturday. However Pop Tarts has exclusively learned that Hogan pulled out at the last minute after suffering anxiety attacks, along with some other medical ailments. We’re also told that her famous father Hulk Hogan (who was scheduled to host the whole concert) then withdrew in order to be by his daughter’s side, forcing organizers to proceed without a hosting replacement. "Brooke is incredibly sensitive," a source close to the starlet said. "She really cares about everyone around her and takes on a lot." A rep for the Hogans told Tarts that "Brooke is better now, but she was sick for a couple of weeks and advised that she couldn’t travel or perform." The rep also claimed that Hulk wasn't scheduled to perform. The beach-loving blonde recently took a shot at a second studio album entitled "Redemption" and with it exposed a number of very personal emotions. "All of the drama with my family and me and my mom and the separation between us and all that crazy stuff, I actually wrote about that," Hogan recently told Tarts. "I actually have a song called ‘Dear Mom’ and it's about the trials and tribulations with my mom, the battles with the press - and I'm in love, so I wrote about that and just everything that I've been through."

The album's third single has been changed from "Ruff Me Up" to now "Strip", as confirmed by her Twitter page (she posted messages about a dancers search for the upcoming music video shoot). I heard the single won't get released until late September, since the video for "Hey Yo" is expected to be released soon.

Mid-South Fair two weeks awayBy ROBERT LEE LONG Community Editor Published: Friday, September 11, 2009 10:33 PM CDT SOUTHAVEN - The Mid-South Fair is just two weeks away, and organizers are in a frenzied rush to get things ready for the first-ever fair held on the grounds of the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven. The 10-day fair will open Sept. 25 and close Oct. 4. The Mid-South Rodeo will run the last three days of the fair, Oct. 1-3 at 7 p.m. "We're really burning the midnight oil about now," Mid-South Fair Chief Operating Officer Jim Rout said Friday. "We're excited about it. It's in a great location and has high visibility." Rout said the fair will have a decidedly Mississippi flavor this year with the added attraction of catfish races. Catfish race in long 16-feet Plexiglass chutes. There are bigger fish that fair officials landed for the fair's main entertainment, Rout said. Country music superstar Martina McBride will be the headliner at this year's Mid-South Fair. McBride is set to take the stage at 8 p.m. on Sept. 27. McBride is slated to perform a show inside the Civic Center's 8,000-seat main arena. Country newcomer Justin Moore will perform as the opening act for McBride. Moore will take the stage at 7 p.m. Tickets for the McBride show are $38.50 for the upper level and $48.50 for lower level seats. "To hear a country superstar like Martina McBride is a wonderful opportunity for the residents of this area," Mid-South Fair vice president and secretary Chuck Roberts said. Brooke Hogan, daughter of former wrestler Hulk Hogan, will kick off the fair on Sept. 25 with an outdoor concert on the fair's outdoor stage.Roberts said the craft exhibitions and art exhibits would be a new experience for many DeSoto County youngsters who, for whatever reason, weren't able to travel to Memphis to the former site of the fair at the Mid-South Fairgrounds. "One of the things I'm most excited about are the many educational opportunities such as the creative arts exhibits," Roberts said. "Everyone coming to the fair will also be able to enjoy the Mid-South Fair Talent Show, which is one of the largest talent shows of its kind in the world." The 156-year-old Mid-South Fair is making its first stop outside Memphis in more than 140 years. Southaven could be the host again next year if the fair's planned new site in Tunica is not ready by 2010. Other Mid-South Fair highlights include: •Ole Miss Day on Sept. 27, featuring a pep rally, the Skinner Boys and the Ole Miss Gospel Choir. •The Platters and the The Coasters, legendary 50s and 60s groups, will perform on Senior American Day, Sept. 28. • The Trailer Choir is slated to perform Sept. 30 during Bike Night.

Brooke who's talking nowBy STUART PINK Published: 14 Sep 2009 BROOKE HOGAN and mum LINDA appear to have put their bitter dispute behind them. The pair enjoyed dinner out in Beverly Hills on Saturday night and were even joined by Linda's toyboy lover CHARLEY HILL. Reality TV star Brooke was snapped in buoyant mood while leaving Madeo Restaurant, indicating a reconciliation. Brooke cut ties with Linda, following her mum's bitter split with ex-hubby HULK - taking her dad's side in the divorce battle. Linda angered her daughter further by dating Charley - a former schoolmate of Brooke's. The singer previously said her mum needed to change her ways in order to repair their relationship. Brooke said: "I hope we do but she'll have to go through a lot of changes - spiritually, mentally and physically. "She's going to really need to find a good spot to be in. "I've tried to help but it's too awkward and weird. We are two different people now."

Jeff Dunham Brings Walter, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Jose Jalapeno on a Stick and His Whole Eclectic Cast of Characters to COMEDY CENTRAL(R) With the New Series 'The Jeff Dunham Show' PremiereSeptember 30, 2009 12:20 PM EDT NEW YORK, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Jeff Dunham is no dummy! He and his infamous characters, Walter, Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Peanut, Melvin, Bubba J and Jose Jalapeno on a Stick have found a home at COMEDY CENTRAL with the new series "The Jeff Dunham Show" debuting on Thursday, October 22 at 9:00 p.m. Encore presentations of "The Jeff Dunham Show" air Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. "The Jeff Dunham Show" is a new half-hour comedy-reality show from Levity Entertainment starring ventriloquist-comedian Jeff Dunham. The series features Dunham and his hilarious cast of characters: Walter, the cranky curmudgeon; Achmed the Dead Terrorist, a skeleton with serious anger issues; "Boobs and Beer" Bubba J; Jose Jalapeno on a Stick, the talking pepper; fame-hungry purple Peanut and Melvin, a superhero with no powers. Dunham and his pals perform in front of a live studio audience as well as interact on location with real people. "The Jeff Dunham Show" builds upon the breakout success of Dunham's COMEDY CENTRAL stand-up specials, the most recent of which, "Jeff Dunham's Very Special Christmas Special," was the most-watched telecast in COMEDY CENTRAL history with 6.6 million viewers. The debut episode features Walter and Dunham visiting a licensed psychologist to save their relationship only to learn that he specializes in gay couples, Bubba J drinking beer and shooting guns at a real rifle range and Achmed the Dead Terrorist promoting his own comedy DVD, "I Kill You I Kill Me." Also in the debut episode, Peanut wants a "hot friggin' famous" Hollywood girlfriend and asks Jeff's publicist to fix him up with guest star Brooke Hogan. However, their date goes awry when Peanut gets all choked up over some guacamole and chips.Future episodes include Achmed attempting to become a US citizen by joining the Marines (but cannot do a push-up to save his life), Peanut developing a new energy drink and Walter visiting a local tech shop to learn about the latest technology - only to end up insulting the entire staff. Launching in early October, "The Jeff Dunham Show" Web site will feature deleted and extended scenes from the show, an exclusive webisode series previewing sketches from the show and special downloadable cut-out masks of four of Dunham's characters. Additionally, fans of the series can play "The Jeff Dunham Show: The Game," allowing them to set off with his wild cast of characters on an adventure to rebuild each other and make it to the show on time. There will also be a Facebook Personality Quiz, "Which Jeff Dunham Character are You?," where fans can find out if they're more of a Peanut or if they're channeling their inner Walter, and then share the results with their friends. "The Jeff Dunham Show" is the first part of a wide-ranging, fully-integrated, multi-platform initiative that COMEDY CENTRAL signed earlier this year with Dunham that also includes a stand-up special, major-market stand-up tour, DVDs and a consumer products partnership. His one-hour COMEDY CENTRAL Original Stand-Up Special will air in early fall 2010, with COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Levity producing and distributing DVDs of both the series and stand-up special, as well as a colossal, nationwide COMEDY CENTRAL Live stand-up concert tour with over 60 performances. The tour kicks off September 2010 and a major consumer products partnership in conjunction with the series and tour will hit the marketplace in 2010. Each of the deal's elements will feature unique components for reaching the COMEDY CENTRAL audience wherever it lives. This deal also opens the door to future digital projects with Dunham and comedycentral.com. According to the concert industry publication, Pollstar, Dunham is the top-grossing stand-up act in North America and he and his cast of characters have amassed legions of loyal fans all over the world. In the spring of 2009, Dunham completed his first European tour, selling out venues from London to Helsinki. A pop culture phenomenon, Dunham has sold over four million DVDs and has received more than 350 million views on YouTube, making him one of the most-viewed entertainers of all time. As well as having the most-watched telecast in COMEDY CENTRAL's history, the DVD of Jeff Dunham's "A Very Special Christmas Special" hit quadruple platinum (sales of over 400,000) in its first two weeks. His previous DVD, "Spark of Insanity," received the best reviews of any DVD on Amazon.com in 2008. His CD album, "Don't Come Home for Christmas," went to #1 on the iTunes CD sales chart as well as Top 10 on Billboard's independent chart. Credits for The "Jeff Dunham Show" include Jeff Dunham, Ross McCall, Aaron Peters, Judi Brown-Marmel, Robert Hartmann and Stu Schreiberg as executive producers and Gary Mann and Monika Zielinska as executives in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL. Long-time writing collaborator, Jeff Rothpan, will serve as supervising producer. The debut episode of "The Jeff Dunham Show" is being sponsored by Subway.

Wednesday, November 11, 2009 Gabrielle Union and Brooke Hogan Speak Out Against Gang RapeIt is important to me to use my voice as a power blogger and PR professional to bring attention to issues of significant importance to the public at large. Often mainstream media neglects to spotlight certain issues and focus on other media too long. As a mother the recent GANG RAPE of a 15 year old teen in Richmond, California has me outraged!!! Teen individuals can stand by laughing and watching a young girl become brutally raped??? We should all be outraged with the worst rage to draw media attention and make a huge difference to stop this malice behavior. Global Grind is enforcing a strong push to highlight celebrities that are also outraged by this violent assault. While they could be focused on only the leading story lines that mainstream media finds interest, Global Grind is seeking to bring awareness to make a real difference. BROOKE HOGAN: “We need to be focusing on teaching our youth that its actually COOL to protect and stand up for your peers. That it only makes you look like a total dumbass when you hurt other people with ANY kind of abuse. We need to be raising awareness about safe sex, respecting our bodies, respecting our souls, and respecting any form of life around us. WE, the adults, need to be leading by EXAMPLE. I have nothing more to say. I am outraged and I am praying for this young girl and her family.”MORE

It looks like Brooke/SoBe Entertainment has finally gotten around to mailing the fan requests for autographed CD booklets and posters. No word on who the contest winner was. But here's a scan of my copy that I received this week (after I had given up all hope):
