Energy was hot and I'm sure if it were released now after Knock You Down it would've performed better.

Energy was hot and I'm sure if it were released now after Knock You Down it would've performed better. It would flop just like it did. I was impressed that it was actually a LITE moderate hit at Urban. The song had no personality and didn't make anyone wanna look at her, which is pointless cause nobody knows who she was anyway.

nobody knows who she was anyway. The girl from "The Way I Are". She's a member of The Clutch, a production/songwriting team affiliated with Timbaland. She's sung background on some Polow produced songs. And she was Usher's love interest in "Love In This Club". I knew who she was.

Yeah. I hadn't realized she was going to do her own album until some time after "The Way I Are" blew up, nor had I realized she was a fairly successful songwriter, but I took a liking to her after "Hey Now (Mean Muggin')," so I was definitely interested when she came back into the limelight. I think people at least have some name recognition, even if they can't tell you a whole lot.

Weren't they setting up for her album to be released shortly after The Way I Are, and it didn't come together as planned because of a budget problem with the label? I remember Timbaland saying that one of the reasons they had her on the song was to build an audience and set her up for an album release by Christmas 07. I figured that was the reason Energy might have flopped; The Way I Are buzz had died so long ago that everyone had completely forgotten she was on it.

"Return The Favor" should have been released years ago.

"Energy" was so generic as ever. Who releases that as a debut single? She could be thrown right into the bin with Brandy for that. Wash that mouth out. Energy was fantastic.

I figured that was the reason Energy might have flopped; The Way I Are buzz had died so long ago that everyone had completely forgotten she was on it. Thats why Timbaland released singles that included OneRepublic, DOE and Keri. He wanted to set them up for their album releases. Keri's issue was that she was recording WAY too much material. Plus she had other writing/featuring obligations that hindered the release.

What a fresh performance! I'm glad she's really breaking into the mainstream and LOL @ David! He sure wanted to slap Keri's ass too

I absolutely love this song and can see it being one of my favorites of the year, by far. But, I must be honest...as much as I love this song, it fully exemplifies why Keri and Ne-Yo are better writing the records, not recording them. Their voices are both pretty good, but absolutely nothing special. I feel like this song could be ever hotter, if recorded with more distinguishable vocalists. I don't know, maybe I'm just being picky...but either way, I love the song. I hope to see it do great at CHR!

This won't crack top 30. She needs to just stop, she's too generic

I meant Top 20 on The Hot 100 if you didn't know.
And her album sales are pretty consistent for a new artist, I see no reason for her to stop. I guess people must really like "Generic".

Please never compare her, or any other poppish artists to Ciara. Ciara is god. I love this song, its too bad its too long, but i really enjoy it, its already top 20 on itunes!

NONE of the music on her record does it for me. She seems VERY talented but the damn messy beats overshadow her voice.
I would stop the singles after this. Go into the studio and try again. She has all the potential in the world, with big names that back her up.

I'm really surprised this isn't blowing up on pop already. I still think it will be a CHR hit though, just needs some time.
