Raheem DeVaughn Gets Real With Label, 'They Don't Respect My Worth' (video)What started out as a behind the scenes blog for "R&B/Hippie Neo Soul Star" Raheem DeVaughn turned into a truthful session about the realities of making music and getting it out to you --the fans. In fact, DeVaughn needs your help to get his album out ! After speaking on his work ethic which included over 24 hours of non stop recording, Raheem DeVaughn looked into the camera (in video below) and said "I don't know when my album is coming out. I'mma stop lying to ya'll". According to DeVaughn, his album, a follow up to the BET Award nominated "Love Behind the Melody," is being held up by Jive Records: "Jive Records doesn't respect my value at this point as far as I'm concerned. Call them. If you ready for my album to come out and tired of waiting.. call the label, call Jive Records". "Until me and the label can see eye to eye and they can see my value and respect my worth I might as well just make dope sh** and give it out to ya'll for free, come to your city and tour and perform it for you". With that said, DeVaughn, widely known for his soulful blend of music including songs like "Guess Who Loves You More" and "You," says there will be a free album coming out for fans within a few weeks. "I predict within the next two to three weeks it's going to be released, the dream is real." He could only hope. JIVE is not a good label for an artist of his style, and now that he's speaking out against him, they're going to stop supporting him.

I really enjoyed "Love Behind The Melody". I hope he sorts out this dispute soon, and finally gets to release this album.

Raheem DeVaughn Offers Stimulus PackageMixtapes are usually crafted by rappers and unsigned artists, but R&B dude Raheem DeVaughn is breaking that mold with his latest 19-track compilation, The Art of Noise. The Grammy-nominated artist’s mix is set to provide listeners with “emotional stimulus” in a world climate that is under extreme duress. “These are difficult times we are living in and everyone is affected, directly or indirectly,” says DeVaughn. “We all know someone that has lost a job, a house, or simply struggling just to make ends meet. If we all do a little, no one has to do a lot.” The Art of Noise, available for download at www.368musicgroup.com, is a prelude to DeVaughn’s highly anticipated third album, The Love and War MasterPeace, due out later this year. –Georgette Cline The Art of Noise Tracklisting 1. “Godspeed” 2. “So Amazing” 3. “Cocaine Dreams” 4. “Walk You to the Dance Floor” featuring Ice the Villain 5. “Club Hop” featuring T-Pain 6. “Planet Body Rock” 7. “I Wanna Love You” featuring Young Chris 8. “Night to Day Song by Al B. Any word on a release date for the new album? Q: "So what's the name of the video we're shooting today?" A: "It's called 'Bulletproof.' It's a socially-concious, modern-day, 'What's Going On'-type record. You know what I'm saying? I got a double CD about to come out in November. It's called The Love & War MasterPeace. Highly anticipated. This is gonna be my breakout record." That's from ~3:15 of the ustream video he has up on his site: www.theloveexperience.com/

Thank you. I hope "Bulletproof" can become successful, but I doubt it can do as well as "Woman" or "Customer". Still, excited for the album!

I am trying to figure out why Bulletproof, which is a great, concious-centered, thought-provoking cut is not doing well on radio, but songs like "Say Aah" and other senseless crap is doing miles better. This should be a top 5 R&B hit at this point.

Man, that "Nobody Wins A War" sure is a mighty package! :o It gotta be at least 6 minutes long to accommodate all those stars properly!

Can't say I'm particularly impressed with the album. My faves are "Black & Blue", "My Wife" and "B.O.B." so far.

My pre-order arrived today. Haven't fully listened to all of it yet but I can tell that I will probably play disc 1 more than disc 2.
